About this Role
We are seeking an experienced Full Stack Developer to join the Vodafone Business Platforms & Solutions – IoT Practice. This role focuses on designing, developing, and installing IoT software solutions and mobile applications. The individual will build high-quality, innovative, and fully performing software in compliance with coding standards and technical design. Responsibilities include development, writing code, and documenting functionality, while working in an Agile environment and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
What you will do
Develop user interfaces and reusable components ensuring efficient application state management and performance using React and NestJS.
Integrate the UI with Backend-for-Frontend (BfF) using Node.js and create APIs with GraphQL.
Optimise performance, scalability, and reusability of applications.
Collaborate with UX designers, Scrum Masters, Product Owners, Testers, Infrastructure Engineers, and other developers in an Agile team.
Research innovative technologies and new ways of working.
Develop microservices using Spring Boot and AWS Lambdas in Python.
Review code, identify improvements, share best practices, and mentor junior colleagues.
Who you are
8+ years of experience in backend development with Java (Spring Boot) and frontend development with React, including functional programming approaches.
Proven experience with microservices on cloud hyperscalers (AWS, Azure), Kubernetes, and Docker.
Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Nexus, SonarQube, GitLab.
Deep understanding of JavaScript (ES6+, TypeScript), CSS, and HTML.
Strong experience in designing and developing microservices using Java/Spring Boot.
Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB).
Proficiency in React libraries, patterns, and principles (custom hooks, HOCs).
State management with Redux and/or Redux Toolkit.
Knowledge of unit testing using Jest and React Testing Library.
Experience translating designs and wireframes into reusable code using Figma or similar tools.
Ability to implement pixel-perfect and responsive designs across browsers and devices.
Awareness of styling paradigms (CSS modules, CSS-in-JS, SCSS, styled components).
Understanding of front-end optimisation challenges (bundle size, browser limitations).
Experience interacting with RESTful APIs (GraphQL is a plus).
Ability to develop reusable components and document them in Storybook.
Strong understanding of version control (Git), monorepos, and Agile CI/CD environments.
Nice to have:
Experience with Backend-for-Frontend approach.
Working with monorepos (NX, Lerna, Turborepo).
Forms (Formik), data visualisation (charts, maps).
Backend functionality using Java, Bootstrap, Python, and databases.
Familiarity with Camunda, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, networking protocols, scripting languages, and IoT applications.
