About this Role

We are seeking a Monetisation & Charging Engineer to design, deliver, and evolve the Convergent Charging Service (CCS) as it transforms into a cloud‑based, 5G‑ready monetisation platform. The role focuses on engineering cloud-native charging solutions, implementing state‑of‑the‑art security standards, integrating with the 5G Core, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams to support commercial products, new features, and innovative monetisation opportunities. The individual will contribute to solution design, development, technical assurance, and project delivery, ensuring CCS evolves in line with business and technology needs.

What you’ll do

  • Design, drive, and deliver the CCS Cloud Transformation Programme, ensuring the service evolves into a fully cloud‑native, 5G‑enabled system.
  • Engineer solutions using containers, open‑source technologies (e.g., Grafana, Kibana), CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, JMeter), and secure coding standards.
  • Develop backend applications in technologies such as Java and Python, including PoCs, integrations, automated test scripts, and API‑based solutions.
  • Own high‑level and low‑level solution designs, including IP architecture, capacity planning, configuration details, and security requirements.
  • Integrate CCS with the 5G Core to enable new monetisation opportunities and future‑proof charging capabilities.
  • Lead technical delivery across multiple domains (e.g., Infrastructure, Core Network, OSS, Provisioning) as a Technical Project Manager.
  • Translate commercial and technical requirements into functional CCS designs following Agile/SAFe methodology.
  • Collaborate with COM Squad, Tribe teams, IT, Operations, and vendors to support design, testing, troubleshooting, and incident resolution.
  • Share knowledge with the wider team and support planned releases requiring extended or overnight availability.

Who you are

  • Experienced in cloud deployment (AWS/Azure/GCP), Kubernetes, charging and rating services, and digital service environments.
  • Skilled in DevOps tools and processes such as Harbor, Helm, Jenkins, GitLab, and JMeter.
  • Proficient in programming and backend development, with experience in developing APIs, test automation, and integration scripts.
  • Knowledgeable in SOAP, Diameter, REST APIs, and charging applications.
  • Strong analytical thinker with problem‑solving capabilities, creativity, and a pragmatic approach to solution development.
  • Strong communicator who embraces new technology and contributes to a collaborative engineering culture.
  • Holds an MSc/BSc in Computer Science or a related field and is fluent in English.
