About this Role

What you’ll do

  • Develop, automate and optimise data pipelines and ETL solutions across multiple platforms.
  • Build, test and monitor scalable data management ecosystems with a strong focus on reliability and performance.
  • Implement data quality benchmarks, profiling techniques and governance frameworks to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Collaborate with Data Scientists, BI Engineers, TechOps and Architecture teams to design technical solutions that align with business needs.
  • Conduct research, proof‑of‑concepts and studies to assess new technologies and support roadmap planning.
  • Ensure high-quality code through automated tests, monitoring, alerting and proactive defect management.
  • Apply best practices in data security, disaster recovery, cloud engineering and distributed systems.
  • Provide technical mentorship and support other engineers through guidance and knowledge sharing.

Who you are

  • Holder of a degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
  • Capable of working across complex, multidisciplinary projects and driving measurable outcomes.
  • Able to communicate effectively across organisational and technical boundaries.
  • Skilled in understanding business needs and translating them into efficient data solutions.
  • Experienced in UNIX/Linux administration and proficient in SQL, Python, data structures and algorithms.
  • Knowledgeable in cloud platforms (preferably GCP and AWS), Big Data technologies and data catalogue tools such as Collibra.
  • Experienced with data warehousing, data modelling, pipeline development, distributed systems and DevOps toolsets (e.g., Ansible, GitHub, Chef).
  • Detail‑oriented with strong critical thinking, problem‑solving and analytical skills.
