About this role

We are seeking a PL SQL Developer to enhance and optimise telecommunications network planning and inventory systems for Vodacom local markets. The role focuses on ensuring data integrity and performance across complex relational databases, integrating and automating systems, and aligning with telecom industry standards. The individual will work closely with network engineers and analysts to develop PL/SQL procedures and customise platforms such as ATOL and Oracle UIM.

What you’ll do

  • Develop and maintain PL/SQL procedures, triggers, packages, and functions for telecom planning and inventory systems.
  • Design efficient database schemas, partitions, and indexing strategies for large-scale datasets.
  • Customise ATOL and Oracle UIM platforms to support network planning and inventory tracking.
  • Implement query optimisation, materialised views, and batch processing for performance enhancement.
  • Create ETL scripts and APIs to integrate Oracle UIM with third-party telecom tools.
  • Automate data workflows and reporting using PL/SQL, shell scripting, and Oracle SQL Loader.
  • Enforce data security policies and ensure compliance with telecom standards for backup and disaster recovery.

Who you are

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Oracle PL/SQL development.
  • Strong expertise in SQL optimisation, indexing, and schema design.
  • Experience with telecom tools such as ATOL and Oracle UIM.
  • Skilled in integrating Oracle UIM with other telecom systems and developing APIs.
  • Familiarity with geospatial data processing and cloud-based Oracle solutions.
  • Knowledge of telecom standards for inventory and network planning.
  • Preferred: Experience with Oracle Spatial & Graph, JSON, REST APIs, and XML.
