About this Role

We are seeking a Software Engineer with experience in cloud backend development, mobile/frontend technologies, and test automation to support Vodafone Home Emerging Products. The role focuses on building and enhancing consumer technology solutions, contributing across the software development lifecycle, and helping deliver high-quality digital products through modern engineering practices and cloud technologies.

What you’ll do

  • Develop frontend and backend capabilities for Home Services in collaboration with engineering and product teams.
  • Work with AWS services to support deployment and testing environments.
  • Contribute to quality assurance and testing strategies, including the design, development and execution of automated tests using behaviour-driven development frameworks.
  • Follow software engineering best practices to deliver scalable and maintainable solutions.
  • Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to support product innovation and service improvements.

Who you are

  • You have experience in software engineering or test automation, ideally with at least five years of relevant experience. 
  • You possess strong programming skills in Golang and Python. 
  • You have knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP or Azure.
  • You are familiar with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform/OpenTofu and Terragrunt. 
  • You have experience with SQL and NoSQL databases. 
  • You understand software engineering principles including SOLID and clean code practices. 
  • You have exposure to frontend technologies such as React, React Native, Kotlin Multiplatform, Flutter or Swift. 
  • You are familiar with GitHub, CI/CD pipelines and test automation frameworks.
  • You hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline and communicate effectively in English. 
  • Experience with Embedded Systems, RDK-B, OpenWRT or BDD testing frameworks such as Cucumber or Behave would be advantageous.
