About this Role

We are seeking a highly skilled individual to lead the design, optimisation and governance of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows across multiple engineering teams. The role involves guiding developers, enhancing automation, ensuring secure and scalable infrastructure, and embedding robust monitoring practices to support the delivery of reliable applications at scale.

What you’ll do

  • Develop and maintain advanced pipeline configurations to support development teams.
  • Create, optimise and standardise user-friendly workflows and CI/CD pipeline.
  • Build and enhance automated delivery pipelines incorporating code quality checks, security controls and full delivery automation.
  • Implement comprehensive monitoring, alerting and logging systems to strengthen application reliability. 
  • Guide project teams in developing applications that align with performance and reliability benchmarks. 
  • Track and analyse engineering performance metrics including code churn, coverage, deployment sizes, pull request sizes and deployment frequencies. 
  • Apply software engineering principles to infrastructure creation and management while ensuring security, scalability and compliance.
  • Develop and maintain policies, standards, guidelines and governance for CI/CD operations and development teams. 
  • Onboard, train and support developers on source control practices, build automation, merge processes, testing and deployment frameworks.
  • Facilitate DevOps activities by enabling smooth code movement between development, testing, staging and production environments.
  • Troubleshoot CI/CD pipeline issues and continuously improve automation and maintainability across the software lifecycle. 

Who you are

  • Hold a degree in IT or a related discipline, with at least 5 years of DevOps experience including 2 years in CI/CD. 
  • Bring experience in CI/CD tools integration, operations, change management and maintenance.
  • Skilled in automation using GitHub, GitHub Actions, GitLab and GitLab CI. 
  • Experienced with Docker, Apache, Node.js and Webpack.
  • Proficient in scripting languages including Shell and Python.
  • Possess strong understanding of monitoring, alerting and analytics systems. 
  • Have effective communication and documentation skills, with the ability to work independently and within teams. 
  • Experienced in Agile ways of working.
  • Experience in TypeScript is considered an advantage.
