About this role

We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to provide global IT integration, operational support, and DevOps leadership with a strong focus on Kubernetes-based platforms. This role plays a critical part in designing, delivering, and operating a secure, production-ready private cloud platform capable of hosting applications for multiple Vodafone entities worldwide. The individual will work across tooling, deployment, and infrastructure to enable reliable, scalable, and efficient application lifecycles while ensuring high service availability and compliance with agreed service levels.

What you’ll do

Design, implement, and manage secure, scalable cloud and private cloud environments.Build, optimise, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, Git, and Artifactory.Develop and maintain middleware solutions, infrastructure-as-code, and automation using Terraform and Ansible.Deploy, manage, and optimise Kubernetes and Docker workloads in production environments.Lead and support migration activities and upgrades to new platform and tool releases.Ensure high availability, performance, and security of Linux-based infrastructure.Troubleshoot and resolve complex incidents, including application, infrastructure, and database-related issues, within agreed SLAs.Maintain accurate technical documentation and contribute to team knowledge bases.Collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve technical challenges and improve service delivery.Apply ITIL-aligned service management practices to incident, problem, and change management activities.

Who you are

An experienced 3+ years of DevOps professional with strong hands-on expertise in Kubernetes and Docker.Knowledgeable in microservices architectures and distributed systems.Experienced with CI/CD tooling and automation, including Jenkins, Git, Terraform, and Ansible.Comfortable working with databases such as PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Cassandra, and Kafka-based systems.Proficient in UNIX/Linux administration and familiar with infrastructure technologies such as DNS and proxy services.Skilled in at least one scripting or programming language such as Python, Ruby, or Go.Experienced in incident management, troubleshooting, and working within SLA-driven environments.Able to prioritise multiple tasks effectively while maintaining service quality and customer focus.Familiar with ITIL principles; ITIL Foundation certification is advantageous.A collaborative communicator who provides guidance and knowledge-sharing support to colleagues.
