What you’ll do

This role plays an integral part in the formulation, execution and alignment of the company’s business strategy with the overall objectives of Vodacom while working closely with various functional teams to ensure that strategic initiatives are clearly understood and properly implemented. 

Main Responsibilities

  • Define and execute Vodafone Egypt's business strategy in coordination with Vodacom overall strategy
  • Support the collection and analysis of market data, competitor insights, and industry trends to inform the strategic planning process.
  • Work closely with various departments to ensure strategic goals are broken down into actionable tasks while providing the support needed to track the progress of strategic initiatives across different business areas.
  • Ensure the departmental goals & activities are aligned with Vodafone strategy & objectives while continuously tracking & monitoring the functional targets to ensure timely execution of strategic plans & resolve any execution challenges.
  • Help communicate key strategic updates from Vodacom to local teams, ensuring clarity and alignment.
  • Works closely with PMO & Transformation sub-function by sharing knowledge on comprehensive benchmark studies and market research.
  • Prepare regular updates for senior leadership on the status of strategic initiatives & provide assistance in preparing reports on strategic programs and initiatives, tracking milestones and outcomes.
  • Identify new business development opportunities that cater for Vodafone strategy & growth
  • Assess market trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes to uncover new avenues for growth
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to structure and negotiate terms of new ventures deals, ensuring alignment with business goals and shareholder value.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience
  • Good strategic insights and programme management experience in highly sophisticated cross functional environment
  • Strong analytical skills (the role requires extensive analysis of trends)
  • Excellent Presentation skills.
  • Attention to details.
  • Ability to work in multitasks under pressure.
  • Self-motivated with ambitious initiatives.
  • Business administration, management consulting or strategic planning is preferable.
  • High level strategic thinker - Extensive experience of setting and delivering high level business strategies within blue chip organisations/consultancies.
  • Commercially driven, able to rationalise strategies into deliverable, operational business plans 
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, credible at chairing and able to build cross functional partnerships.   
  • Successful leadership track record, preferably through managing a sizeable team.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with demonstrable ability to manage ambiguity and simplify complex situations
  • Excellent negotiation skills
