What you’ll do

Role purpose: 
Merchant Analyst will be responsible for extracting, analysing, and reporting merchant and channel performance data to support business decision-making. This role ensures accurate KPI tracking, provides commercial insights, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to drive growth and efficiency.
Key accountabilities and decision ownership: 
•    Own the design, execution, and optimization of SQL queries and BI reports to ensure robust data extraction and analysis.
•    Guarantee accuracy and timeliness of merchant performance dashboards and KPIs to support business decision‑making.
•    Translate data into actionable insights that influence commercial strategies and drive business growth.
•    Manage reporting processes for merchant acquisition channels, commissions, payouts, and post‑campaign analysis.
•    Oversee reward and recognition program reporting while collaborating with MIS and stakeholders to resolve data issues effectively
Core competencies, knowledge and experience
•    Strong analytical thinking and problem‑solving skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
•    Advanced SQL expertise for query optimization and data extraction across multiple sources.
•    Proven ability to design, build, and maintain BI dashboards and reports using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
•    Commercial acumen and business‑oriented mindset to identify opportunities, performance gaps, and customer value drivers.
•    Effective communication and collaboration skills to convey insights, resolve data issues, and support business cases.
Must have technical / professional qualifications: 
•    Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Accounting, Actuarial Science, Data Science, Economics, or related field.
•    Advanced SQL skills with query optimization expertise.
•    Proficiency in BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
•    Solid grounding in data visualization and reporting best practices.
•    Desirable: Knowledge of Python/R for advanced analytics and ETL/data warehousing processes.
