Role Purpose:
Deliver performance insights from merchant and channel data to support business growth and decision-making. Co-create advanced Machine Learning solutions that increase revenue, reduce costs, and improve customer experience, while strengthening Machine Learning capabilities across M-Pesa and Vodafone globally.
Key accountabilities and decision ownership: 
•    Develop data solutions through SQL, ETL, dashboards, and reporting.
•    Monitor business performance through KPI tracking and channel analytics.
•    Generate actionable insights to drive growth and business decisions.
•    Lead campaign and commercial analytics including rewards, payouts, and performance reviews.
•    Build and deploy Machine Learning solutions that improve revenue, efficiency, and customer experience.
Core competencies, knowledge and experience:
•    Excellent analytical, logical and casual reasoning skills.
•    Advanced SQL expertise for query optimization and data extraction across multiple sources.
•    Proven ability to design, build, and maintain BI dashboards and reports using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
•    Commercial acumen and business‑oriented mindset to identify opportunities, performance gaps, and customer value drivers.
•    Effective communication and ability to anticipate customer, competitor and market dynamics 

Must have technical / professional qualifications: 
•    4+ years of experience in similar big data and data science role.
•    Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in quantitative fields like Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science or Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Data Journalism, or related fields
•    Significant knowledge of customer driven marketing techniques and processes
•    Proficiency in Python and associated data Science ecosystem, Machine Learning and Experiments Design.
