Network Strategy and Engineering provide International connectivity, voice, data and messaging services to support local markets, enterprise and wholesale carrier customers, delivering 1.500+ projects per year to fulfil the needs of 140 million customers using our Mobile, Fixed, TV and International Connectivity Services. The team are responsible for all Engineering activities including the architecture, planning, design, testing, delivery, and lifecycle management of the associated Network infrastructure.

 

The Network Planning and Business Partnership (NPBP) team is responsible for shaping the Network Evolution Plan, prepare and manage the Network 1-3-year budget submission ensuring alignment with Group and Local market requirements.

 

We are looking for someone with a financial & planning mind-set to drive the budget for Ireland market network investments ensuring plans are efficiently submitted on time. This role requires a candidate with business acumen and knowledge of the overall telecoms market, who is passionate about technology, and ideally experienced in budget planning (capex & opex).

 

The candidate will support the preparation and approval of the annual DB/LRP and in-year plan changes across the Engineering Domains. He/She will cooperate with the team in the prioritization of the budget plan to meet the financial envelope, ensuring all cross-domain dependencies are properly captured and priorities are validated against the Network Strategy and market demand. 

 

The candidate will be responsible of managing the NSE budget mobilisation through the Ireland approval governance process, together with budget execution and reporting.

Who you are

 

Technical / Professional Experience

 

  • Technical understanding of Mobile & Fixed Networks and supporting architecture.

 

  • Strong numerical ability, an excellent capacity to analyse data and numbers (both technical KPIs and Financial/Budgetary information).

 

  • Network Planning Background including experience of creation of both short range and long range Network Investment Plans and Cost Modelling

 

  • Excellent presentation, communication, collaboration and influence skills with ability to engage Senior Leaders.

 

  • Experience of being well organized, self-motivated, adaptive/flexible and able to perform under pressure in a highly dynamic organization.

What you’ll do:

 

Key Accountabilities:

 

  • Support the Network Strategy execution through planning and steering of priorities and budget (e.g. 5G Advanced, Satellite, Network Cloud).

 

  • Lead the Network Evolution Plan (NEP) and Detailed Budget Submission for the Ireland NSE Portfolio.  Ensure All dependencies are captured cross-functionally considering both Vodafone strategic and Ireland Market Priorities.

 

  • Support the consolidation of the e2e Ireland Network CAPEX plan in conjunction with Planning/Governance and Finance teams.  Prepare executive material to enable the budget prioritisation and Investment Plan Approval with CNO/CEO and Group Financial Submissions.

 

  • Manage In-Year NSE Budget Re-Prioritisation and change control through the Rolling Forecast Process.

 

  • Support the mobilisation and tracking of NSE & Network CAPEX spend including Cash Profile/Phasing, Risks and Q4 closure.

 

  • Support P * Q Analysis and validation of GST Service Charges for VF-IE

 

  • Support the submission of Engineering KPIs and Benchmarking Excercises. Analyse the relationship between KPI and budget and support VF-Group Analysis.
