Role Purpose:

The Senior AI & ML Data Engineer is responsible for providing people leadership and technology leadership for the function. Work with a variety of colleagues across Vodafone to support the creation and implementation of Big Data & Artificial Intelligence initiatives.

Essence of Role – Key Accountabilities:

Lead and drive our Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML) & Data Engineering strategy.
Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with data engineers & data scientists, plus other stakeholders to ensure data is readily available, clean, and formatted for AI models. Provide technical direction and support the creation and implementation of AI initiatives across the organization.
Data Pipeline Development and Management: Design, construct, install, test, and maintain highly scalable data management systems to support AI and ML models. This includes extracting, transforming, and loading (ETL) data from diverse sources into a central data warehouse or data lake
Model Deployment and Monitoring: Build high-performance algorithms, prototypes, predictive models, and proof of concepts. Translate business requirements into concrete data engineering tasks and support the integration of new data sources into shared data environments.
Infrastructure and Platform Management: Select and manage data storage solutions, configure and manage platforms like Apache Spark, Hadoop, and cloud-based data processing services. Automate data infrastructure operations for deployment, monitoring, and maintenance
Builds the resource plan needed for the project, including both internal and external resources, in collaboration with data engineering teams.
Assess and analyse the impact of proposed changes on various parts of the project and recommend mitigation strategies.
Build and manage relationships with key stakeholders to ensure project alignment with local business objectives.
Provide regular updates on project progress, challenges, and outcomes to senior management.
Provide mentorship, guidance & knowledge transfer to other team members.

Terraform (helm charts) -
