VodafoneThree - Senior Commercial Finance Manager
Location: Farnborough + Hybrid (4 days a week onsite)
Salary: Excellent basic salary plus bonus and Vodafone benefits
Working Hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week – Monday to Friday
Security Clearance: This position requires you to hold or the ability to obtain a UK Developed Vetting (DV) clearance.

What you’ll do
In this role, you’ll become a trusted financial leader and strategic partner, driving clarity, improving performance, and enabling bold decision‑making across the business.
- You’ll lead the annual budgeting cycle, working closely with the VBSE leadership team to set stretching but achievable targets.
- You’ll steer financial forecasting, shaping both short‑term rolling outlooks and long‑term models for the full P&L.
- You’ll prepare and publish monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, giving leadership the insights they need through clear variance analysis.
- You’ll create KPIs and performance metrics that shine a light on trends and help the business stay ahead.
- You’ll develop and document business processes and accounting policies that strengthen internal controls.
- You’ll manage cost control across CoS, capex, opex—including a significant headcount budget.
- You’ll oversee accounting operations, including cost accounting and revenue recognition, bringing strong technical accounting knowledge and partnering with FinOps.
- You’ll provide robust financial modelling and insights to support strategic initiatives, investment decisions and operational change.
- You’ll lead and grow the Commercial Finance & Billing & Collections team, setting direction, supporting development, and driving high performance.
- You’ll act as a key point of contact for FP&A teams and external auditors.
- You’ll manage revenue accrual balances to ensure invoicing, cash collection and contract alignment.
- You’ll meet the security requirements of the role, including the ability to hold Developed Vetting (DV) clearance and maintain strict customer confidentiality.
Who you are
- Extensive finance and accounting experience, with a strong track record of driving financial performance
- Current DV clearance or eligibility and willingness to undergo DV vetting
- Ability to interpret complex financial data and turn it into simple, actionable recommendations
- Strong communication skills, comfortable presenting financial information to non‑financial audiences
- Experience leading, motivating, and developing high‑performing teams
- Strong commercial acumen and confidence in holding senior stakeholders to account
- Experience in Finance Transformation (desirable)
- A recognised qualification such as CIMA, ACA, or ACCA
- Solid understanding of Accounting Principles and IFRS, especially IFRS 15
