Working hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week – Monday to Friday (On-Call 1-in-7)

What you’ll do
As a Field Engineer, you will play an integral part of the Field Engineering team, performing installation and maintenance activities in support of the fixed and mobile networks as well as business solutions. You will also install, commission and maintain the network, products and services to agreed business standards and service levels without compromising safe working practices.

- Adherence to quality and H&S standards as well as achieving agreed performance targets is essential to this role
- The role holder must have a flexible approach to working hours and be willing to travel if required to meet the demands of the business
- The candidate will be expected to participate in a 24/7 callout rota and / or shift pattern as and when required in alignment with the requirements of the Operating Unit you are assigned to
- The Field Engineering role is a physical one, with the need for manual lifting, climbing stairs, walking and being on your feet for large parts of the day, working in both inside and outside environments
- Rooftop based working including the use of ladders up to 3 metres is essential and the role holder will be expected to undertake regular health assessments to ensure that all physical aspects of the role may be carried out safely
Who You Are
We are seeking a skilled telecom professional with hands-on experience in installing, diagnosing, and repairing a range of technologies across multi-vendor environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in core transmission systems, mobile networking, and associated infrastructure, combined with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. This role demands a proactive approach, attention to detail, and the capability to deliver under pressure in a customer-facing environment.
The position involves travel and on-site work, so a valid UK/EU driving license is essential. Candidates must also be able to achieve and maintain SC clearance status.
- Installation, diagnosis, and repair of telecoms technologies, including:
- Multi-vendor CPE (Cisco, Juniper, ADVA)
- Core transmission technologies (DWDM, Ethernet)
- Mobile networking (3G/4G/5G) and associated equipment
- Microwave radio systems
- Switch and field DC power systems
- Fibre and copper cabling and termination
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong focus and resilience under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent customer-facing skills and commitment to safety standards.
