Role Purpose

The AI Project Manager is responsible for leading and managing AI projects from inception to completion. This includes defining project scopes, aligning objectives with business strategies, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring successful implementation of AI solutions that drive business value.
 

Role Profile

Project Management:
• Plan, execute, monitor, and close AI projects ensuring they align with business objectives.
• Develop detailed project plans, manage resources, and track progress against milestones.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams, including data scientists, developers, and business stakeholders.
AI Strategy & Implementation:
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define AI solutions and prioritize use cases.
• Oversee the deployment of AI models into production and ensure scalability and optimization.
• Stay updated with emerging AI technologies and recommend innovative solutions.
Risk Management:
• Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Stakeholder Communication:
• Act as the primary point of contact between technical teams and business stakeholders.
• Facilitate effective communication between the technology team and the customer, ensuring alignment on project requirements, milestones, and deliverables.
• Translate complex AI concepts into understandable terms for non-technical audiences.
 Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
• Establish KPIs to evaluate project success.
• Generate detailed reports on project outcomes, lessons learned, and improvement opportunities.

Competencies & Quaifications

  • +2 Experience in handling client or customer communications (e.g., in support, sales, coordination roles).
  • Team Coordination: Any experience coordinating between teams, departments, or external vendors.
  • Administrative Support: Experience managing calendars, schedules, or documentation.
  • Time Management & Organization: Proven ability to manage multiple tasks or priorities, even in internships or academic projects.
  • Basic Reporting: Experience using Excel, Google Sheets, or similar tools to track tasks, deliverables, or KPIs.
  • Tool Familiarity (a plus, not a must): Exposure to project management or collaboration tools like Trello, Asana, Jira, Notion, or Microsoft Teams.
  • Initiative & Problem Solving: Examples of taking initiative, resolving small issues independently, or improving a process.
  • Basic Understanding of Projects: Participation in academic, volunteer, or small work-related projects.
  • Strong leadership and team coordination capabilities.
