Job Summary:
Vodafone Egypt is seeking a Tech Lead – Android to drive the development of cutting-edge mobile applications, ensuring high-quality code, performance, and user experience.
As an Android Tech Lead, you will lead a team of developers, set the technical vision, optimize the tech stack, and collaborate across teams to ensure our applications are scalable, high-performing, and aligned with business goals.

Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership, Mentorship & Innovation:
- Lead and mentor a team of Android developers, fostering a culture of learning and innovation, providing technical guidance, code reviews, technical training, and knowledge-sharing sessions to uplift team capabilities.
- Guide the team through agile development methodologies, ensuring efficient sprint planning and execution.
- Define and implement a modern, scalable, and efficient Android architecture using best practices (e.g., MVVM, MVI, Clean Architecture).
- Drive the adoption of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and performance monitoring tools.
- Ensure code quality, security, and performance optimization across all Android applications.
- Define scalability strategies to handle increasing user growth and ensure app stability across diverse Android devices.
- Drive Vodafone’s Android development roadmap and continuously evaluate and upgrade the Android tech stack, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Participate in hiring and onboarding new team members, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
- Act as a bridge between product, design, and backend teams to align business and technical goals

What's in it for you
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 6+ years of experience in Android development, with at least 2 years in a leadership or senior role.
- Expertise in Kotlin, Java, Compose, with strong knowledge of Android SDK and Jetpack components.
- Experience with MVVM/MVI architecture, dependency injection (Dagger/Hilt), and reactive programming (RxJava/Coroutines).
- Hands-on experience with RESTful APIs, and third-party integrations.
- Strong knowledge of mobile security, performance optimization, and testing frameworks (JUnit, Espresso).
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and version control systems like Git.
- Solid understanding of Google Play policies, security best practices, and accessibility standards.
- Strong problem-solving skills, leadership qualities, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills & Competencies:
- Knowledge of cloud services (Firebase, AWS, Azure) and mobile DevOps.
- Experience with cross-platform development (Flutter, React Native) is a plus.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
