Role Purpose

As a Senior Android Developer, you will play a pivotal role in designing and developing high-quality, scalable, and performant Android applications. You’ll work closely with technical leads, product managers, designers, and cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional mobile experiences aligned with business objectives. You will also mentor junior developers and contribute to the continuous improvement of development practices and architecture.

Role Profile

  • Design, build, and maintain advanced Android applications using Kotlin, Jetpack, and modern architecture patterns (MVVM, MVI, Clean Architecture).
  • Ensure application performance, quality, and responsiveness across a wide range of Android devices and OS versions.
  • Collaborate with backend, design, and product teams to translate business and UI/UX requirements into robust technical solutions.
  • Integrate RESTful APIs, third-party libraries, and internal SDKs effectively and securely.
  • Implement and advocate for best practices in code quality, testing (unit, UI, and integration), and performance optimization.
  • Support and mentor junior team members through code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
  • Actively participate in sprint planning, estimation, and retrospectives within Agile/Scrum teams.
  • Work closely with the Android Chapter Lead to align on technical direction, contribute to architectural discussions, and support the broader Android roadmap.

Core Competencies & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of professional Android development experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Kotlin (and Java where applicable), with deep knowledge of the Android SDK, Jetpack libraries, and Android Studio tooling.
  • Experience with reactive programming (e.g., RxJava, Kotlin Coroutines) and dependency injection frameworks (e.g., Hilt, Dagger).
  • Solid understanding of mobile architecture patterns, testing frameworks (JUnit, Espresso), and CI/CD processes.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and Agile methodologies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, leadership qualities, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of cloud services (Firebase, AWS, Azure) and mobile DevOps.
  • Experience with cross-platform development (Flutter, React Native) is a plus.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
