Role Purpose

The Back End Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining server-side applications, APIs, databases, and integration services that power enterprise digital solutions. The role ensures that applications are scalable, secure, performant, and aligned with enterprise architecture and coding standards. The Back End Developer collaborates with Front End Developers, DevOps Engineers, Solution Architects, QA teams, and business stakeholders to build robust digital platforms and services.

Key Accountabilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain server-side applications and microservices.
  • Build RESTful and GraphQL APIs to support web and mobile applications.
  • Develop integrations with third-party systems, ERPs, CRMs, and enterprise applications.
  • Design and optimize relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Implement authentication, authorization, and security controls.
  • Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Write reusable, maintainable, and well-documented code.
  • Develop automated unit, integration, and API tests.
  • Participate in peer code reviews.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve application defects and production issues.
  • Ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.

Core competencies, knowledge and experience

  • 3–5 years of experience in back-end development.
  • Strong proficiency in at least one back-end language such as Java, C#, Python, Go, or Node.js.
  • Experience designing APIs and microservices.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • Relevant cloud or platform certifications are an advantage.
  • Strong database design and SQL skills.
  • Experience with cloud-native and containerized applications.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
  • Effective communication and teamwork.
  • Excellent command of English.
