Role Purpose
The Credit Risk Associate Manager will be responsible for establishing and managing the credit risk framework of the company’s consumer finance business. In the building phase, the role focuses on designing credit policies, risk models, and underwriting standards that balance business growth with portfolio quality. The Credit Risk Manager will work closely with product, data, operations, and compliance teams to ensure effective risk assessment, monitoring, and control, enabling sustainable and scalable growth.
Job Profile
- Design and implement credit risk strategy, policies, and governance structures.
- Define credit approval processes, scorecards, and decisioning criteria for new and existing products.
- Develop underwriting models and rules (manual and automated) to assess customer creditworthiness.
- Interface with the FRA for license filing and regular discussions.
- Collaborate with Product/Data/MIS teams to build and refine credit scoring models.
- Ensure underwriting policies are scalable and compliant with FRA.
- Monitor credit portfolio performance, delinquency, and default trends.
- Identify emerging risks and recommend corrective measures.
- Implement early warning systems and collection strategies.
- Develop and deliver regular risk reports to senior management.
- Provide insights on credit exposure, portfolio health, and risk-adjusted returns.
- Support audits, regulatory reviews, and internal risk committees.
- Prepare and report FRA monthly reports and meet the monthly/quarterly deadlines.
Competencies and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 4-8 years of experience in Risk Management within the banking or financial services sector.
- Minimum 2 years of experience managing and developing teams.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Risk Management frameworks and methodologies
- Credit Underwriting and Credit Assessment
- Risk Portfolio Analysis
- Credit Policies and Procedures - Hands-on experience with Loan Management Systems (LMS) and Rule Management Systems (RMS).
- Experience in managing regular audits and regulatory reviews conducted by the Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) and the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE).
- Strong data analysis skills with the ability to identify trends, assess risks, and support business decisions.
- High level of risk awareness and proactive risk mitigation capabilities.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across multiple functions.
- Proven people management and leadership skills, including coaching, mentoring, and team development.
- Excellent analytical, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
