Role Purpose
Designing, executing, and maintaining comprehensive testing strategies to ensure software quality across manual and automated processes. This role involves mentoring junior testers, collaborating closely with development teams, and playing a key part in enhancing automation frameworks. The engineer will contribute to test planning, lead test execution, and advocate for continuous improvement in quality practices
Role Profile
- Test Strategy & Planning
- Participate in defining test strategies for projects.
- Develop test plans, test cases, and automation scripts.
- Contribute to best practices and standards for test execution and documentation.
- Test Execution & Automation
- Execute manual and automated test cases across platforms.
- Design and maintain automation scripts for functional, regression, and smoke testing

- Integrate test suites within CI/CD pipelines and monitor execution.
- Mentorship & Review
- Mentor and support junior testers with technical guidance and code reviews.
- Share knowledge of tools and practices through documentation or training sessions.
- Collaboration & Requirements Analysis
- Work with developers, business analysts, and product owners to understand functional and technical requirements.
- Participate in sprint planning and estimation meetings.
- Provide clear and timely feedback on quality risks, defects, and improvements.
- Defect Management & Reporting
- Log, track, and manage defects using standard tools (e.g., JIRA, Azure DevOps).
- Analyze test results and prepare reports on test coverage and effectiveness.
- Provide input on improving software quality and testability.
- Continuous Improvement
- Explore new tools and approaches to improve testing efficiency and coverage.
Qualifications & Technical Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in software testing, including hands-on test automation.
- Experience mentoring junior team members.
- Strong understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Clear and effective communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Initiative in identifying testing improvements and automation opportunities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in Agile environments

Must have technical/ professional qualifications:
- Proficiency in test case design, test execution, and automation scripting.
- Hands-on experience with automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Appium, TestNG, Cucumber).
- Knowledge of API testing tools (e.g., Postman, Rest Assured).
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
- Experience with at least one programming/scripting language (e.g., Java, Python).
- Performance testing experience (e.g., JMeter) is a plus.
- Certified ISTQB Foundation level is mandatory
