Role Purpose
To support Vodafone’s key strategic growth areas in Digital industry and following the Agile mind-set requires a highly capable and experienced Scrum Master.
This role will be responsible for establishing an end to end agile culture within the delivery of Consumer marketing calendar.
You will develop, manage, execute agile process & take full accountability for bringing agility to all of the consumer segments’ projects deliveries.
You will work very closely with product owners, solution architects, integration engineers, system integrators and software developers and ensure the deliveries happen in time, on budget & effectively follows the agile best practices & principles.
You will be leading & establishing an agile environment and will become a key part of major ongoing and upcoming projects for delivery. Your objective is to ensure that every project that you lead gets delivered effectively in agile and as promised.
Key Accountabilities
- Take E2E ownership and accountability of establishing agile values, methods, principles & practices for the delivery of digital projects.
- Take the role of agile Scrum Master and facilitate discussions and conflict resolution, and enable the exploration of alternatives or different approaches & ensure no impact on the delivery of projects.
- Organize and facilitate project planning, daily stand-up meetings, reviews, retrospectives, sprint and release planning, demos and other Scrum-related meetings.
- Coach and mentor team members on agile standards and best practices; ensure consistent best practices are applied across the work streams.
- Ensure the correct setup & usage of CDI tools for projects & ensure project documentations are up to date for every sprint.
- Manage stakeholders and vendor interfaces as required for technical delivery and report on project progress & activities.
Must have technical / professional qualifications:
- Certified Scrum Master/Scrum Practitioner.
- Must have several years of proven hands-on experience in managing projects in agile environments, especially, in a Scrum Master role.
- A strong technical background and ability to understand architecture, source code & technical issues to drive effective agile delivery.
- Exceptional communication, organization, and team building skills; articulate and able to steer a meeting with presence.
- Ability to maintain calm attitude during difficult situations and handle pressure situations.
- Creative and efficient in proposing solutions to complex, time-critical problems.
- Experience in maintaining and reporting against relevant metrics (i.e. burn down and velocity, risks, timelines, etc.). in timely manner.
- Strong team player with an ability to identify and remove impediments or conflicts that interfere with the ability of the team to deliver the sprint & project goals.
- Self-starter & self-motivated with a drive to identify opportunities for improvement across the agile delivery processes.
- Highly independent, takes ownership, does not need to be told what to do and seeks feedback and execute actions.
BSc or MSc level degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or Telecommunications.
Core Competencies
- Understanding of IT technologies & architecture.
- Strong interest & skills in software development for internet, mobile and/or communications technology
- Excellent communication, presentation & reporting skills in English (both written and spoken
- Proven track record of managing complex software projects with agile methodology.
- Certified Scrum Master with ability to manage multiple projects comfortably.
Language requirements:
- English (B2 or above)
- Any other non-native language an advantage.
