What you’ll do

The Senior Commercial Finance Manager plays a pivotal role in supporting the Business Direct channel, providing financial leadership, commercial insight and strategic challenge to drive sustainable growth and profitability. The role is responsible for delivering robust financial planning, forecasting and performance analysis, while partnering closely with Commercial, Sales and Operational stakeholders to influence decision-making. Through detailed financial modelling, business performance evaluation and proactive identification of risks and opportunities, the role helps shape strategic initiatives, optimise commercial outcomes and ensure delivery against key business objectives. Acting as a trusted finance partner, the Senior Commercial Finance Manager supports informed decision-making and continuous improvement across the Business Direct portfolio.

• Lead commercial finance support for the Business Direct channel, providing insight, challenge and recommendations that drive profitable growth and support strategic decision-making. 
• Partner with senior stakeholders across Commercial, Sales, Finance and Operations teams to influence business performance and deliver financial objectives. 
• Own and deliver robust financial planning, forecasting and budgeting activities, ensuring performance is clearly understood and accurately reflected in business plans. 
• Analyse revenue, margin, customer and product performance, identifying trends, risks and opportunities to improve commercial outcomes. 
• Provide financial evaluation and commercial modelling for new initiatives, investment proposals, pricing decisions and strategic projects. 
• Translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights and recommendations for both finance and non-finance audiences. 
• Monitor key business drivers, proactively highlighting performance variances and supporting the development of corrective actions where required. 
• Support governance and control activities, ensuring accurate reporting, financial integrity and compliance with business policies and processes. 
• Drive continuous improvement across reporting, forecasting and analytical processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy and decision-making. 
• Build strong cross-functional relationships, acting as a trusted finance partner who supports the delivery of VodafoneThree’s commercial ambitions.

Who you are

• Can showcase significant experience in commercial finance, business partnering, financial planning and analysis, or a similar strategic finance environment. 
• Highly analytical, with strong financial modelling and commercial evaluation skills, and the ability to turn data into meaningful business insight. 
• Comfortable challenging assumptions, identifying risks and opportunities, and influencing decisions through evidence-based recommendations. 
• Excellent stakeholder management skills and can build credibility quickly with senior leaders and cross-functional teams. 
• Ability to communicate clearly and confidently, adapting your style to suit a range of audiences, including non-finance stakeholders. 
• Strong attention to detail while remaining focused on the bigger commercial picture and strategic priorities. 
• Proactive, curious and solutions-focused, with the ability to investigate issues, challenge existing ways of working and drive improvements. 
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and delivering high-quality outputs within demanding timescales. 
• Demonstrable confidence working with large data sets, reporting tools and financial systems to support informed business decisions. 
• Someone who showcases a growth mindset, who takes ownership of outcomes and motivated to continually develop their commercial and financial expertise.
