Location: Newbury + Hybrid
Salary: Excellent basic salary plus bonus and Vodafone benefits

What you'll do

This is a career-defining opportunity to help shape the future of the UK's largest mobile network provider. As a senior member of the Business Deals Legal team, you will play a pivotal role in enabling business growth, advising on complex commercial matters, and ensuring legal excellence across Vodafone Business. You'll work closely with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to deliver pragmatic, business-focused legal solutions that drive success while managing risk.

You will:

• Lead negotiations on high-value, strategic contracts, bids, and tenders across a broad range of Vodafone Business sales segments.
• Provide high-quality, commercially focused legal advice on complex commercial, operational, regulatory, and compliance matters.
• Act as a trusted adviser to senior business leaders, helping shape strategic decisions and supporting key business priorities.
• Build strong partnerships across commercial, finance, security, compliance, product, technical, and regulatory teams to deliver timely and effective legal support.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate legal risks while enabling business growth and protecting customer trust and brand reputation.
• Drive legal governance, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency and empower self-service across the business.
• Influence and collaborate with external stakeholders, including industry partners, service providers, and group functions.
• Monitor regulatory and legislative developments, translating legal change into practical business guidance and strategic opportunity.
• Support the development of a high-performing legal team by mentoring colleagues, sharing expertise, and fostering a culture of collaboration and inclusion.
• Champion best practices and contribute to building an engaged, diverse, and future-focused legal function.

Who you are

• A qualified lawyer with significant post-qualification experience, ideally gained within telecommunications, technology, or a similarly complex commercial environment.
• Extensive experience negotiating and advising on high-value commercial contracts and strategic business transactions.
• Strong understanding of the telecoms and technology sectors, including relevant legal and regulatory developments.
• Proven ability to balance legal risk with commercial opportunity, enabling business growth while maintaining appropriate governance and compliance.
• Excellent negotiation, influencing, and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to engage at senior leadership level.
• A commercially minded adviser who can translate complex legal issues into practical, solution-focused recommendations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and support strategic decision-making.
• A collaborative team player who enjoys developing others, sharing knowledge, and contributing to an inclusive and supportive culture.
• Experience driving process improvements, innovation, or transformation initiatives within a legal or commercial environment.
• Passion for delivering exceptional legal support that helps businesses succeed while putting customers at the heart of decisions.
