Salary: Excellent basic salary plus bonus and Vodafone benefits
Working Hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week – Monday to Friday

What you’ll do

We're recruiting for a Business Development Manager to join our Public Sector Market Strategy & Growth   team here at VodafoneThree.

The Public Sector Sales function has been setup within Vodafone Business to create a focused segment dedicated to serving our Public Sector customers, harnessing our innovative solutions and connectivity services to support them with their digital transformation agendas. Public Sector is a strategically important area for Vodafone Business, with the ambition to rapidly increase market share and achieve year on year revenue growth in a complex and mature market.

As a Business Development Manager, you will be an expert on Education, Housing Associations & Charities and own the deliverables within 4 key areas - Market Research & Analysis, Strategic Growth & Purpose, Government & Policy and Partnerships & Industry Engagement.

Using knowledge and insight on Public Sector priorities, regulations and government policies, you will be responsible for proactively enabling growth across the Public Sector through identification of new revenue streams, amplifying and retaining existing ones and building credibility across the market by positioning Vodafone as a trusted digital partner.

Wider responsibilities will also include, but will not be limited to:

  • Develop the growth strategy, including creation of quarterly roadmap of compelling events. Build a plan to capitalise and collaborate with Sales Account Managers to execute.   
  • Understand & upskill sales team on the priorities, barriers & challenges, key drivers, stakeholders, competitor landscape, regulations, governing bodies, funding flows and influential factors impacting spend behaviours across the public sector. Identify initiatives to leverage these for new business generation. 
  • Act as point of contact in senior management & ELT level meetings where subject matter expertise is required across Education, Housing Associations & Charities. 
  • Monitor government priorities, tracking policy and regulatory developments to ensure VodafoneThree offerings are aligned with public sector goals. 
  • Facilitate ‘innovation events’ alongside Sales Field team bringing together key stakeholders from industry, relevant partners & cross-functional Vodafone team to showcase our capabilities and nurture sales opportunities.
  • Support Head of Public Sector in the participation of government forums, supplier events & round tables.




Who you are

  • Proven ability in developing strategic plans for revenue growth and effectively articulating the vision.
  • Skilled at turning market insight and research into revenue generating opportunities 
  • Track record of successful stakeholder relationship building and continuous engagement
  • Ability to present at C-suite level to influence and obtain buy-in
  • Effective communicator across all levels of the organisation
  • An interest in, and good understanding of the Public Sector.
