About this Role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented IT Budget Controller to support Vodafone Business Products and Services (VBPS) within the TSSC Romania organisation. The individual will play a vital role in managing the Internet of Things (IoT) portfolio budget, ensuring accurate forecasting, work order assurance, procurement oversight, and alignment with SAP financials. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a complex, fast‑paced technology environment, enjoys partnering with diverse stakeholders, and is committed to delivering high‑quality financial governance.

What you’ll do

  • Work closely with LPM and portfolio budget owners to maintain an accurate full‑year outlook in the budget tracker, ensuring alignment with approved plans and correct cost treatment.
  • Control portfolio budgets in accordance with governance requirements and regularly communicate spend risks and opportunities to Finance.
  • Conduct project accounting activities such as monthly forecasting, commitment receipting, month‑end reconciliation, SAP budget set‑up, budget tracker management and variance analysis.
  • Maintain budget tracker accuracy by ensuring consistency with SAP actuals, commitments and the latest portfolio insights.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Procurement, Vendor Management and senior stakeholders to ensure robust portfolio budget control.
  • Manage and consolidate financial and ad‑hoc reporting for Finance, LPM, delivery teams and PMO leadership.
  • Facilitate regular portfolio budget review calls and act as an advisor on cost‑related decisions.
  • Streamline and automate cost planning processes to enhance operational efficiency.

Who you are

  • Experienced in managing programme‑level Capex budgets using bottom‑up methodology.
  • Skilled in SAP Finance and Accounting, with a strong understanding of accounting cost treatment rules.
  • Adept at working in complex, matrixed environments and virtual teams.
  • Strong relationship‑builder with experience in IT delivery, business transformation or PMO environments.
  • Holder of a university degree in business economics, financial management, information management or a related field.
  • Highly proficient in written and spoken English.
  • Experienced in telecoms or a similar dynamic industry
  • Knowledge or certification in Agile, PMI, P3O or PRINCE II; finance certifications (CIMA/ACCA); business intelligence skills; or process improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma.
