To support Vodafone Portugal’s tax compliance and reporting activities by ensuring accurate and timely execution of all tax obligations, maintaining high‑quality tax data, and contributing to continuous improvement of tax processes. The role provides essential technical support to the Tax Leader and plays a key part in day‑to‑day tax operations, ensuring alignment with local legislation, Group standards and Vodafone’s values of simplicity, speed, and trust.
What you’ll do
- Prepare and validate periodic tax returns (VAT, Stamp Duty, Withholding Taxes, CIT inputs), ensuring timely and accurate submission according to tax deadlines;
- Maintain, review, and update tax data, including WHT validations, reconciliations, and support to relevant stakeholders;
- Gather documentation, prepare responses, and provide operational support to the Tax Leader during tax audits and interactions with Tax Authorities;
- Monitor business processes and its impact in tax, identify gaps, propose improvements, and ensure adherence to internal and Group tax procedures;
- Support business areas by providing day‑to‑day tax clarifications, ensuring tax‑compliant decision-making and alignment with Group initiatives.
Who you are
- Degree in Accounting, Management, Economics, or Taxation;
- Experience in tax compliance and reporting, ideally 2–4 years in a corporate tax department or consultancy environment;
- Solid knowledge of Portuguese taxation (VAT, CIT, Stamp Duty, Withholding Taxes). Knowledge in accounting principles is a plus;
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to interpret tax legislation;
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams, auditors, and external advisors;
- Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple deadlines with accuracy and reliability;
- Knowledge of Portuguese tax legislation and reporting obligations;
- Fluency in English and Portuguese.
