What you’ll do

The essence of the Solution Design Architect role in the Digital is to design the architecture of multiple platforms and the evolution of all the systems that we have in the Digital Engineering  for demands raised by Vodafone Group and Local market commercial teams. 
The specific responsibility concentrates on the evolution and optimization of the existing platforms as well as the integration of further markets and services, ensuring that all the relevant stakeholders are involved during the definition of the solution and supporting the delivery, quality assurance and operation teams.

The Solution Design Architect is part of the distributed agile team with specific responsibility to:  

  • Define solution architecture and implementation architecture. 
  • Align requirements and design with impacted teams across Vodafone Group Technology.  
  • Write the High-Level Design specification that is the input for the offshore development team.  
  • Align requirements with impacted teams across Vodafone Group Technology and local markets.  
  • Define the Architectural Runway for the service, which provides the necessary technical foundation for developing business initiatives and implementing new features and/or capabilities. 
  • Ensure non-functional requirement (Security, Privacy, Resilience, Continuity, etc) are factored into designs.
  • The Solution Design Architect will work closely with the Product Manager, Technical Product Owner and QA to make sure that the platform meets the needs of the business within the boundaries of the architectural roadmap and strategy.  
  • Implementation of Proofs of Concept (PoC) both internally for local market and for the Vodafone Group.
  • Be innovative.

Who you are

  • Strong communication skills and ability to act as technical SPOC interacting with other teams, Vodafone markets and external partners. 
  • Strong experienced in design and development of highly scalable, robust, distributed systems. 
  • Profound experience in application architecture and hands-on development. 
  • Excellent knowledge of web-based and service based architectures (REST), cloud oriented architectures (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud and OpenStack) and micro-services patterns.
  • Deep knowledge of cross-platform architecture, technology and platforms (e.g. Web / Android / iOS / etc.). 
  • Good knowledge of (web) security standards. 
  • Ability to lead development and make architectural and implementation decisions, in a distributed team.  
  • Fluency in the English language
