Role Purpose

 

The Pre-Sales Solution Specialist role provides technical pre-and post-sales support for medium complexity customer requirements across a range of Vodafone Business solutions and services.

Delivering Solutions:

 

The Pre-Sales Support Specialist role involves owning and delivering medium complexity deals, typically these opportunities may be worth up to £30M TCV. The Pre-Sales Solution Specialist will support both private sector and public sector clients and are therefore expected to have an awareness of the procurement frameworks and processes associated with both. In the delivery of these solutions, you will need to take the role of “Solution Owner” and be responsible for supporting Governance and Assurance activities as detailed in the Vodafone Way of Design.

 

The Pre-Sales Support Specialist will respond to requests for new technology or technology-derived solutions from the customer but will also be accountable for demand generation activities i.e., pro-actively creating new opportunities to sell Vodafone solutions. This is a customer-facing role.

 

The Pre-Sales Support Specialist will have a detailed understanding of the products and services within the Vodafone
Service Catalogue, the underpinning technologies and the internal processes involved from quotation through to delivery.

 

Supporting complex deals:

 

The Pre-Sales Support Specialist will also be required to work with other members of the pre-sales and wider Vodafone team in the support of more complex opportunities. This will typically involve working with the “Solution Owner” in delivering a work package as part of a more complex solution, taking a set of requirements, and designing a solution around a standard Vodafone service. This may involve your participation in technical or commercial governance and will require you to be able to converse with key stakeholders to provide clear and unambiguous information.

 

The Pre-Sales Support Specialist will work with other members of the Vodafone team including Sales, Project Management, Delivery, Service and Commercial Management teams to ensure that all designed solutions are fit for purpose and can be readily deployed and operated by Vodafone Business in a profitable manor.

 

The role will involve dealing with the full range of products and services offered by Vodafone Business and will include working with technologies from mobile, IOT, Fixed Networks, Security and Cloud based services.

Key Responsibilities:

 

Preparation of Customer Quotes:

 

  • Responsible for translation of customer requirements into Vodafone products and the provision any associated quotes and design information.
  • Responsible for the capture of all associated costs, and technical elements required for each quote.
  • Responsible for meeting all associated customer quote Service Level Agreements.
  • Responsible for the creation of clear and unambiguous quotes to ensure all have the appropriate term, recurring and non-recurring elements.
  • Responsible for managing the daily workload, using the appropriate tools to allocate and respond to quotes.

 

Support Complex Bids & Solutions:

 

  • Responsible for small less complex work packages as part of an overall solution.
  • Responsible for delivering clear communications and outputs to aid the solution owner in the delivery of the overall solution.
  • Responsible for ensuring all solutions adhere to the Vodafone Way of Design methodology.
  • Responsible for the communication of all associated risks and impacts to the solution owner.
  • Responsible for working with other areas such as product or other subject matter experts to get more detail and support when required.

 

Additional Supporting Roles: 

 

  • Responding to any “Phone a Friend” queries from the sales or service communities.
  • Participation in delivery governance process when required.
  • Work with supporting teams to guide where improvements to processes and tools can be made.

Who You Are

 

Our Pre-Sales Solution Specialists have knowledge of the following:

 

  • An understanding of the IT Telecoms industry trends and drivers.
  • Knowledge of Vodafone Business and its products and services.
  • Ability to work in virtual teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present solutions in a clear and concise manner.
  • Experience working in a sales or customer facing role within the Technology/Telco sector.
  • Strong personal impact, self-disciplined and personal drive.
  • Willingness to develop and adapt to meet changing client and market expectations.
  • Significant problem-solving ability using innovation and initiative.
  • Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills with an eye for detail.
  • A team player willing to support and work with and for others.

 

Technical & Professional Skills / Qualifications:

 

  • Must have - good Teams, Office 365, Excel, PowerPoint/presenting knowledge.
  • Desirable - have some experience of one or more key technologies such as WAN/LAN/UC/IOT/Cloud & Security.
  • Desirable – knowledge or experience of the ITIL framework.
  • Desirable – understanding or knowledge of public sector frameworks.
