What you’ll do

To support the Group provision of services to governments in support of law enforcement agencies  and the defence of national security. Working closely with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure that centrally managed products and services remain compliant with Law Enforcement Assistance obligations, whilst also adhering to Vodafones global LEA policy. 

 

  • Act as a subject matter expert on LEA  for Vodafone Group, VB, VRS and all central entities – assessing activities across the global footprint – identifying compliance risks and implementing solutions.
  • Efficiently handle requests for Law Enforcement Assistance directed to any of the Vodafone Group central entities with adherence to relevant applicable law and Vodafones LEA policy. This may include processing cross-border requests under the e-Evidence regulation with potential for out-of-hours working
  • Provide technical assistance and support to business units and local OpCos where required to ensure LEA obligations can be met
  • To support Vodafones global approach to transparency, through collection of data and contribution to relevant reporting
  • To undertake horizon scanning with regard to changes in law enforcement requirements for topics such as e-evidence and ensure that the business is prepared.
  • Including through participation in the relevant standards bodies e.g. ETSI /3GPP.

Who you are

  • Qualification at degree level – knowledge of the law useful
  • Technical experience required in both lawful interception and retained data.  
  • Good working knowledge of LEA and government requirements  
  • Strong technical expertise in relation to law enforcement requirements.  A working knowledge and/or experience of ETSI standards is desirable.
  • Good communication and influencing skills with ability to be effective upwards and sideways within an organisation and to develop strong external relationships  
  • Strong evidence of sound judgement – this is a complex and sensitive area requiring balanced judgements and a willingness to challenge
  • Strong analytical skills – the ability to review product architectures, technical information, technical requirements documents and legal text and translate these into work plans / projects / programmes of activity
