What you’ll do

Help us ‘Create the Future’ (one of Vodafone’s key Spirit behaviours) as we build and scale our new Network API team. The team’s purpose is to deliver API products that unlock the value of our technology assets and meet the needs of a new customer - the Developer. We will do this by designing and building a new suite of API products to be scaled across Vodafone markets, commercialising the APIs to maximise value, and growing our channel and portal capabilities to ensure the product gets in the hands of the customer. 
This is an exciting opportunity to join an empowered team which operates as an agile start-up, whilst equally benefiting from the scale and recognition of a global brand. We are looking for a collaborative product leader who can shape the products that form the basis of this new opportunity. 
The Network API team has accountability across all Vodafone markets for directly monetisable APIs and has the single view out to all customers via the Developer Marketplace portal. Making sure that we offer the right portfolio and that our products meet our customers need is a key role as we unlock the opportunity of this growth area for Vodafone. 
You will evolve our Product strategy and roadmap in alignment with overall business objectives and key external and industry CAMARA and Vodafone’s future strategy.

The role of the Principal Product Manager for Network API  is to lead our group strategy for Network APIs. The role will lead and create a central global product team to establish Vodafone’s thought leadership position on these emerging economy for industry. Collaboration, consistency and scale are key to unlocking this opportunity and so this role must balance vision and innovation with wider market adoption and buy in. 
 
This role will lead the portfolio strategy, vision and product development, as well as ensuring best in class market execution to deliver best customer experience. Key activities include leading developing global product strategy, product definition and prioritizing development & engineering efforts and product performance. 


•    Functional leadership, coaching and development of the Network API Product Team. 
•    Driving portfolio vision and strategy (~3-year horizon) in line with global business and commercial priorities. 
•    Define the Network API Product roadmap to underpin the vision and strategy through identification of key goals in line with business LRP. 
•    Planning and setting product investments to align with the portfolio vision and strategy. 
•    Analysing industry trends and segments to support the portfolio strategy. Working collaboratively with market and customer insights to guide best practice execution and customer segment requirements. 
•    Defining development priorities and ensuring agile squads deliver to delivery milestones to achieve roadmap in collaboration with Technology teams. 
•    Leading and being accountable for the E2E product quality across the E2E lifecycle of their products with the SAFe framework.  Including consolidation and sunsetting and identifying new key Industry design standards. 
•    Empower, lead and inspire a team of global and local product managers to pro-actively manage their products across through delivery and life cycle management. 

Who you are

•    Track record of successful product design, development and management, of digital API product preferably in the telco Industry. 
•    Minimum 10 years of progressive management and leadership responsibility within a Product Development or adjacent organization, including in-depth program management experience preferably in Product Development, Technology and Services. 
•    Experience with data privacy considerations and highly regulated product landscape globally. 
•    Operates at a high vision and strategy level for an overarching group of products. Needs to understand customer requirements, market and competitive trends and the role Vodafone should play. 
•    A combination of strong strategic and technical knowledge from a product standpoint, with the ability to bridge any gaps between the two. 
•    Ability to drive sprint prioritisation and regular iterations required into products to realise new opportunities or resolve customer needs. 
•    Enables the global vision locally and works to establish new operating model with global accountability  
•    Excellent ability to influence and navigate in a highly complex environment, whilst delivering strong leadership to the teams. 
•    Demonstrated effective communication and presentation skills with all levels of the organization 
•    Proven ability to plan, organize, and deliver projects with agreed schedules and budgets 
•    Excellent influencing & negotiation skills and experience to successfully lead, motivate and communicate in a multi-national matrix environment 
•    Strong leader with the ability to motivate and carry the team, build consensus with other stakeholders and influencers 

•    Significant experience of products, ideally gained within both fast-moving entrepreneurial environments and larger corporate environments 
•    Understanding of agile methodologies, particularly with a view of product and SAFe 
•    Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with high credibility/presence and instant positive impact
