Vodafone Finance Operations is evolving its operating model to drive greater scalability, efficiency and clarity of accountability across Service Lines, Market Financial controlling, and Local Market Finance Services. Within this context, the HOFO is accountable as the market-level financial integrator, ensuring that delivery, accounting judgement, and stakeholder expectations are brought together into a single, coherent financial outcome. The Senior Finance Manager plays a critical role in enabling this, acting as the operational extension of the HOFO and ensuring that all financial outputs across VOIS, MFC/Chief Accountant and Market Finance are aligned, reconciled and decision-ready.
The Senior Finance Manager is accountable for ensuring end-to-end financial coherence across Finance Operations delivery, accounting judgement, and market financial outcomes. Operating within a complex, global matrix, the role integrates inputs from VOIS Service Lines, MFC/Chief Accountant, and Market Finance to deliver a single, robust and decision-ready financial position that supports effective governance, high-quality reporting, and confident decision-making across senior finance leadership. The role plays a critical part in strengthening the effectiveness of the finance operating model by bridging delivery, judgement, and stakeholder expectations, ensuring consistency, transparency and alignment across all components of the financial ecosystem.
What you’ll do
• Lead the integration of financial outputs across VOIS Service Lines, MFC/Chief Accountant, and Market Finance, ensuring full alignment between financial data, accounting treatment, and supporting narrative. Identify and resolve inconsistencies, gaps, and misalignments proactively, delivering a single, reconciled and coherent financial position that enables confident decision-making across senior finance leadership.
• Act as the final integration and quality checkpoint for key financial outputs including MEC packs, financial statements and certification materials, ensuring they are complete, accurate and internally consistent. Synthesize complex financial information into clear, structured and decision-ready insight to support senior leadership governance and effective stakeholder engagemen
• Identify, prioritise and drive resolution of cross-service issues, audit dependencies and close cycle blockers, ensuring clear ownership and timely resolution across Service Lines, MFC/Chief Accountant and market stakeholders. Manage escalations selectively, providing structured problem statements, options and recommendations to support effective decision-making at the appropriate management level.
• Translate complex operational and accounting inputs into clear and consistent financial narratives, supporting alignment across senior finance stakeholders and business leadership. Prepare high-quality briefing materials, anticipate key questions, and ensure consistent messaging across all contributing functions.
• Analyse and connect process performance, control outcomes and financial reporting to provide a holistic and actionable view of market performance. Identify trends, risks and inconsistencies, enabling leadership to challenge effectively, prioritise improvements, and ensure alignment between operational execution and financial outcomes.
• Ensure audit readiness and effective coordination across all contributing teams, validating that financial data, supporting evidence and disclosures are fully aligned. Support delivery of robust certification and statutory reporting outcomes by proactively identifying and addressing inconsistencies, reducing risk of audit or regulatory challenges.
• Identify recurring issues and systemic weaknesses within the operating model, providing insight into structural gaps such as ownership clarity, process handoffs and governance effectiveness. Contribute to the prioritisation and delivery of targeted improvements to enhance efficiency, transparency and financial control at a market and functional level.
Who you are
• Strong financial reporting and accounting knowledge (IFRS preferred)
• Deep understanding of Record-to-Report processes and financial close cycles
• Proven ability to operate in a complex matrix environment with multiple stakeholders
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving capability, with ability to synthesise complex inputs into clear insight
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, including engagement with senior leadership
• Demonstrated ability to operate with high autonomy and deliver outcomes without direct authority
• Experience in audit, statutory reporting, or controllership roles is highly desirable
• Chartered Accountant qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
• Significant experience in Finance Operations, Financial Reporting, or Controllership roles
