What you’ll do
Role purpose: To play a leading role in the External Affairs function to support Vodafone ambitions in satellite communications across the global footprint. This will include leading on policy development, engaging on regulatory and licencing matters and working cross functionally with teams on public affairs, external communications and strategic initiatives.
- Lead on the creation and maintenance of standardised policy materials documenting GEA’s satellite policy positions
- Lead development of satellite topics and policy positions from an ITU and WRC perspective closely working/aligned with technology teams. Seek to amplify these positions in relevant forums.
- Provide oversight and expertise in respect of regulatory and licensing matters including, management of applications, where appropriate.
- Work closely with relevant teams (in particular Brussels office, Campaigns team local markets regulatory and public policy teams) to develop strategies to land satellite policy priorities externally.
- To be proactive in thought leadership in substantive areas under candidates control, including development of detailed policy position papers.
- You will also be expected to support Vodafone’s joint venture, SatCo in Luxembourg on mutually beneficial satellite topics.
Who you are
- Clear communicator, particularly in written communication. Must be able to clearly communicate and influence above level – role may include presenting to SLT, exco and board (internally) and to top-level EC officials.
- Creative, solutions-orientated, analytical mindset able to link together analyses and policy positions aimed at senior policymakers and regulators.
- Relevant experience and knowledge of the satellite industry – including emerging developments.
- Ability to work effectively across multiple functions in the Vodafone organisation.
- Structured and well-organised, with an ability to work to deadlines.
- University degree, preferably in fields of law, international affairs, economics or technology.
