Role Purpose

 

Help us ‘Create the Future’ (one of Vodafone’s key Spirit behaviours) as we build and scale our new Network API team. The team’s purpose is to deliver API products that unlock the value of our technology assets and meet the needs of a new customer - the Developer. We will do this by designing and building a new suite of API products to be scaled across Vodafone markets, commercialising the APIs to maximise value, and growing our channel and portal capabilities to ensure the product gets in the hands of the customer. 


This is an exciting opportunity to join an empowered team which operates as an agile start-up, whilst equally benefiting from the scale and recognition of a global brand. We are looking for a collaborative senior manager who can drive partnership, sales and channel enablement for this newly created area.  

 

The Network API team has accountability across all Vodafone markets for directly monetisable APIs and has the single view out to all customers. 

 

The role of the Senior Partnership Manager for Network API is to lead channel execution, sales and marketing, ensuring that our products are assessable to the developers through the creation and execution of our channel and partnership strategy. Identifying, executing and nurturing key commercial relationships with GSI, ISV, HCP, Aggregators and new and emerging channels through, sell to, sell through and sell with buying motions. Both for third party sales channels and Vodafone Enterprise sales teams. 

 

Leads the strategy, identification and execution of channel opportunities based on understanding of industry and emerging trends in the ecosystem and solution/product areas. Builds, maintains, and owns a trusted-advisor relationship with leaders of complex partners to achieve strategic alignment and drive growth. Coaches and challenges partners to transform their plans and strategies around consumption and key targets. Leads campaigns through direct and partner marketing teams.

 

Develops Go-to-Market (GTM) and co-selling strategies for the Network API Portfolio with complex partners that outline activities and expectations for Network API market development and growth. Ensure channel readiness and enablement by supporting the development of marketing plans to promote product understanding and channel growth. 

 

What you’ll do

 

  
• Functional leadership, coaching and development of the Network API Partnership Team, including talent development and growth in a new and emerging topic.  
• Driving channel vision and strategy (~3-year horizon) in line with global business and commercial priorities. 
• Develop, monitor and adjust the strategy, ideal partner profiles and practices to continuously improve results. 
• Managing end-to-end relationships with partners, commercial negotiation and performance,  leveraging account management processes and marketing investments for local execution.
• Establish clearly defined goals for each partner relationship, and update and maintain proper reporting metrics and funnel management
• Deliver key channel and customer insight to inform the Network API Product roadmap to underpin the vision and strategy enabling the delivery of the LRP. 
• Analysing industry trends and segments to support the portfolio strategy. Working collaboratively with market and customer insights to guide best practice execution and customer segment requirements. 
• Proactively build and nurture a partner ecosystem, understanding partner and customer needs through engagements and ensure partner success by advocating for partners internally facilitating roadmap reviews, and opportunity pipelines. Monitoring partner satisfaction and evaluating the health of relationships.


 

Who you are

 

• 8+ years business development experience, with a demonstrable ability to drive revenue and show results
• Proven track record of building partnerships program from its inception with creative commercial design thinking.
• Digital API ecosystem and industry experience
• Strategic and analytical thinker who understands technology and business strategy
• Clear communicator with an ability to inspire internal and external stakeholders
• Strong executive presence with proven ability to present and manage a wide variety of relationships
• Proven record of achieving targets and driving revenue in a high-growth, rapidly evolving organization
• Passionate about technology and relationships and comfortable speaking publicly and engaging large communities
• Excellent ability to influence and navigate in a highly complex environment, whilst delivering strong leadership to the teams. 
• Excellent influencing & negotiation skills and experience to successfully lead, motivate and communicate in a multi-national matrix environment 
• Strong leader with the ability to motivate and carry the team, build consensus with other stakeholders and influencers 
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with high credibility/presence and instant positive impact 
• Previously led a channel partner program, meeting revenue objectives
