Software Engineer
Location: London + *Hybrid
Working hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week – Mon to Fri

What you’ll do
As a software engineer at Vodafone your primary responsibility is to develop and support our web applications: ensuring that they are operational, performant and of the highest quality. This role is targeted towards passionate developers, who are enthusiastic and highly driven towards creating rich, user focused applications. You will need excellent communication skills and will have the opportunity to work on the creation, design & functionality within key projects, spanning all the Vodafone web domains & platforms.
Main responsibilities :
- Delivery of technical solutions with clean, well-tested code
- Be an active part of the engineering community team and collaborating with other engineers
- Build cross-browser solutions optimized for a wide range of devices.
- Mentor team members and provide feedback and always be improving.
Who you are
- You will preferably have commercial experience with at least 1 popular web programming language such as JavaScript, Java, NodeJS
- Demonstrable experience with RESTful APIs and JSON
- Experience in Enterprise
- Experience with Git or other source control systems
- Strong ability to debug code
- Knowledge of building performance driven websites with an understanding of network traffic, HTTP requests and other performance focused enhancements
- Working knowledge of how to utilise manual and automated testing
- You love developing software and have a tracked record doing it
- You are knowledgeable and passionate about software development and are open to continuous learning and development
- You have experience in delivering timely, high-quality software
- You have solid experience working in an agile development environment
- You are comfortable with change, and can adapt to new challenges
