Title: UI Team Lead
Location: London Paddington

The Group Design Studio is a global Centre of Excellence providing Group and local markets with strategic design guidance with a vision to “design digital experiences our customers love”. We strive for experience excellence using the double diamond design methodology & principles. The team collaborates with product, marketing, technology and design to increase value to both our customers and our business.   

This role is responsible for leading the UI team within Group Design Studio. This team drives visual design and creative direction throughout Vodafone's digital portfolio of products and services. The role promotes design thinking across the Vodafone global footprint to increase cross-functional collaboration in designing new products and services or optimising existing ones to meet the needs of our customers and increase value for business. The role delivers strategic creative vision, visual concepts and is the red thread in driving consistency and effectiveness between channels as well as efficient use of UI Design frameworks and other toolkits. 

You Will:
• Responsible for driving the strategic visual design direction across products and channels, for online, tablet, mobile and retail, working closely with the Senior Manager of Design Studio.
• Responsible for developing and implementing UI strategy for products and channels and support the development of visual design concepts for future services, products and propositions. 
• Works directly with local markets to guide the deployment of group design assets. 
• Ensure the development and implementation of design assets align to brand and User Experience visual guidelines. 
• Line Management responsibility for all UI resources including skills & career development planning and overall wellbeing of team members.

We would like you to have:
• Exceptional communication skills in visual, verbal, written and formal presentations.
• Proven ability to drive effective project delivery in a fast-moving environment working with both internal and external resources.
• Strong ability to respond effectively to the organisational and cultural demands of working across an international group.
• Strong understanding of UI Design guidance documents on standards, processes and working methodologies
• Strong ability to influence at all senior management levels and excellent stakeholder management skills.
• Client side and agency experience desirable but not essential.


You Must Have:
• Proven experience in a UI leadership role. 
• A recognised expert with experience working with global brands.
• A degree-level education (or equivalent) in design, fine art, digital media, graphic design, product design or industrial design.
• Experience in a commercial product, service and/or telecoms or technology company.
