What you’ll do

Responsibility, as part of a team, for managing all aspects of the Group’s UK Corporation Tax matters including the preparation and review of the tax notes and associated calculations for completion of numerous Statutory Accounts, internal reporting events, Coporation Tax returns and other tax submissions (including the PSA and Financial Reporting disclosures). Includes oversight of colleagues in overseas Shared Service Centres and working with a number of different Finance Team colleagues, as well as being a a key point of contact for the Group’s auditors.

 

  • Preparation/review of:
    • UK statutory account tax calculations and disclosure notes
    • Internal reporting events/submissions
    • Tax figures in various companies’ management accounts
    • Corporation Tax returns and computations
    • PSA and other ad hoc tax returns and related submissions
  • Assist external advisors with the preparation of R&D tax credit claims and subsequent filings with HMRC
  • Assist wider Group tax and finance teams in projects, where required
  • Ensuring effective & efficient SOX controls are implemented and operated
  • Periodically inform and update senior management (in Group Tax and the wider business) on the status of the above

Who you are

  • ACA/ACCA or CTA qualified, or equivalent.
  • Experience of Alphatax CT software preferred but not essential (training will be provided)
  • Financial accounting experience with 1-3 years PQE either with an advisory firm or within large industry with experience of, or a specific interest in, UK Corporation Tax .
  • Involvement in preparing and/or reviewing UK Corporation tax returns and statutory account disclosures.
  • Able to build relationships across all levels of the organisation, including with senior stakeholders.
