Role purpose

Finance Operations and Margin Assurance (FOMA) delivers services to the Finance organisation and businesses for all Group of Hyper entities. It is accountable for the delivery of all financial actuals and secure margin and value across all Hyper markets globally.

 

This role has operational accountability to develop and implement effective VAT strategies to optimize the tax position across the Hyper footprint and ensure VAT and Transfer Pricing planning, compliance and reporting in all locations. Execute internal, external and government audits as needed. Identify, assess and mitigate tax risks and ensure compliance with local laws and regulations.  Provide advice to the business on general VAT liabilities, specifically on the VAT implications of any transactions.

What you'll do

  • Develop and implement VAT tax strategies that align with overall business objectives. Responsible for VAT and Transfer Pricing activities across Hyper entities, to minimize tax liabilities and risks for the company. 
  • Ensure all transactions have been fully analysed from a VAT and transfer pricing perspective while presenting risks and mitigations for business challenges. 
  • Work with external consultants and internal team members to review operating mechanisms across Hyper footprint 
  • Stay relevant with VAT and Transfer Pricing amendments across all locations to ensure the implementation of such changes in a timely manner.
  • Ensure effective relationship and performance management at world class/market leading operational excellence with Vodafone Shared Services
  • Delivering VAT reporting, ensuring VAT compliance and identifying risk.
  • Minimising VAT liabilities and compliance issues.
  • Identifying potential tax planning opportunities.
  • Liaise with and manage the working relationship with HM Revenue & Customs during routine audits and ad hoc enquiries.
  • Maximise efficiencies in working and reporting systems to reduce the VAT/Duty liabilities where possible within the legislative framework.
  • Set up Hyper VAT and Transfer Pricing  processes for compliance and reporting for the Hyper go live as per project plan 
  • Ensure VAT compliance and reporting for al Hyper entities by Go live
  • Responsible for the overall Transfer Pricing reporting across all Hyper entities
  • Responsible for creation of innovative, efficient and tax effective advice for Hyper Group and each entity to minimise the impact of VAT charges on the operations and financial position of the business
     

Who you are

  • Experience in managing various stakeholders in a complex and changing/dynamic operating environment
  • Strong VAT/TP experience with proven work experience with a bent for analytical mindset to achieve team goals 
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to ensure a transparent representation of the results, processes and procedures and to influence multiple stakeholders 
  • Able to communicate tax issues to non-tax specialists and senior management.
  • Experience of dealing with domestic and international taxation authorities and Governments.
  • Solution orientated, ‘Can Do’ mindset with focus on customer satisfaction beyond expectations
  • High degree of personal responsibility
  • University degree in Finance
  • 10+yrs Tax experience gained in large, multi-national organisation
