What you’ll do
As Senior Manager – Cloud Platform Engineering at VodafoneThree, you will lead the development and maintenance of our multi-cloud platforms. In this role, you will play a key part in driving cloud adoption and ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of these platforms. Your expertise in cloud technologies and commitment to enhancing the developer experience will help shape our cloud strategy and deliver an exceptional experience for our engineering teams.
Your leadership within Cloud Engineering will be central to the successful delivery and operation of our Telco-as-a-Service (TaaS) platform. TaaS is a multi-cloud engineering platform that provides cloud-native application hosting, API gateway services, and developer self-service capabilities, enabling globally distributed software engineering teams and supporting the VodafoneThree API marketplace.
You will work closely with DevOps teams and Site Reliability Engineers (SREs), with Site Reliability Engineering offered as a service across IT under the Digital Engineering & Architecture domain. This role involves strategic planning, technical leadership, and collaboration with diverse, cross-functional teams. You will set the vision and direction for the SRE and Developer Experience teams, while fostering growth, building skills, and creating an environment where everyone can thrive.

- Champion VodafoneThree’s Cloud, Developer Experience, and SRE vision by aligning technical delivery with TechComms strategy.
- Lead the build and run of VodafoneThree’s Cloud Platform with a focus on exceptional developer experience.
- Develop and execute a sustainable strategy and operating model for cloud platforms.
- Oversee full development lifecycle and ensure timely, successful delivery.
- Define and monitor KPIs for reliability, performance, and user experience.
- Empower DevOps and SRE teams through mentorship, goal-setting, and inclusive culture.
- Collaborate on scalable, secure cloud architecture and adopt innovative technologies.
- Promote automation, CI/CD, and seamless integration of applications and services.
- Drive operational excellence through SLOs, performance monitoring, and incident management.
- Manage cloud costs, ensure security and compliance, and communicate effectively across teams and leadership.
Who you are
- Proven leadership in Cloud and SRE Engineering, with deep technical and architectural expertise for delivering high-quality digital products.
- Skilled in designing and operating secure, scalable cloud solutions (AWS, GCP, Azure) using Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform and CloudFormation.
- Applies external market insights to identify growth opportunities and drive strategic innovation.
- Drives DevOps and DevSecOps culture through agile, lean practices and automation, enhancing collaboration between development and operations.
- Deep understanding of software development lifecycle and delivery methodologies, with a focus on mentoring high-performing teams.
- Communicates effectively across audiences using tailored styles, media, and techniques.
- Experienced in leading multidisciplinary technology teams across multiple geographies.
- Hands-on involvement across all stages of the software development lifecycle.
- Operationally adept in managing large-scale cloud-hosted solutions with high security, availability, and performance demands.
- Passionate about modern engineering practices, tooling, and continuous improvement, with strong financial and business partnering capabilities.
