At Vodafone, we’re not just shaping the future of connectivity for our customers – we’re shaping the future for everyone who joins our team. When you work with us, you’re part of a global mission to connect people, solve complex challenges, and create a sustainable and more inclusive world. If you want to grow your career whilst finding the perfect balance between work and life, Vodafone offers the opportunities to help you belong and make a real impact.
What you’ll do
You will be part of a small, high-autonomy squad building the future of autonomous procurement at Vodafone. The Agentic Procurement team sits within VP&C (Vodafone Procurement & Connect) and is responsible for defining, validating and deploying AI-driven procurement agents that will transform how Vodafone and its partners source, contract and manage suppliers.
This is an orchestration model: we work with external partners, all leaders in the AI space, alongside Vodafone’s internal development teams, to build and deploy agent capabilities. The squad defines what gets built, ensures it is technically sound, and drives delivery. You will work alongside the VP&C Enterprise Architect (who operates across all domains) and collaborate daily with the other members of the agentic procurement squad.
You are the squad’s orchestration lead. Your job is to ensure that what gets defined and validated actually gets delivered — on time, to standard, and across multiple partner streams simultaneously. You don’t manage a development team directly; you coordinate delivery across our AI development partners, Vodafone’s internal dev teams and the VP&C Enterprise Architect function.
- Own the end-to-end delivery cadence for the agentic procurement programme, from sprint planning through deployment and operational handover.
- Manage dependencies, risks and blockers across concurrent partner workstreams, escalating early and with proposed solutions.
- Drive partner performance against SLAs and contractual commitments. Hold partners to account on delivery quality, timelines and scope.
- Coordinate delivery governance across the Vodafone–Telenor JV, navigating multi-stakeholder decision-making across markets.
- Provide clear, honest delivery reporting to the Head of Agentic Procurement: no surprises, no optimism bias.
- Work with the AI Solution Engineer and Procurement AI Product Analyst to ensure technical validation and domain sign-off are embedded in the delivery process, not bolted on afterwards.
Who you are
- Proven experience in technical programme management, ideally in multi-vendor or partner delivery models. You know how to get things delivered when you don’t control the teams doing the work.
- Commercial awareness: SLA governance, partner performance management, contract compliance. You understand the commercial levers, not just the delivery mechanics.
- Strong risk and dependency management across concurrent workstreams. You see problems coming before they arrive in a status report.
- Technical literacy: able to engage meaningfully with engineering teams on delivery trade-offs, architecture dependencies and integration risks. You don’t need to write code, but you need to understand what the engineers are telling you.
- Clear, direct communication. Comfortable delivering difficult messages to partners and stakeholders.
- Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business or equivalent. Programme management certifications (e.g. PMP, MSP, SAFe) desirable.
- Experience managing AI, data or technology delivery programmes in enterprise or high-growth environments.
