What you’ll do

As the Category Manager, you will be responsible for procurement activities across the category. You will ensure that cost savings are delivered and cost management structures are leveraged. In this role you will focus on the management of a team that carries out activities that deliver cost savings through effective negotiations and securing favorable terms and volume discounts, achieving measurable value for Vodafone. You will be responsible for the definition and implementation of the procurement strategy related to Active Radio categories within the Supply Chain Management (SCM) Network Access team. It includes, but not limited to, the following key accountabilities:

  • Drive commercial and contractual negotiation of the relevant Active Radio projects in Vodafone markets while ensuring the business requirements are met.
  • Accountable for managing the relationship with internal (global and local) stakeholders as well as with the relevant suppliers.
  • Deliver the optimal cost of ownership, savings, and Central Management Spend (CMS) targets whilst securing the delivery of projects following the strategy.
  • Joint working with the Operations team to ensure the correct implementation of the related purchasing catalogs across Vodafone markets.

Who you are

  • Procurement Experience: Strong commercial and negotiation skills with procurement experience in the Telecoms industry.
  • Analytical Skillset: Proven reasoning skills capabilities.
  • Leadership Skills: Management and teamwork, key focus on collaboration with virtual teams in cross-cultural environments.
  • Stakeholder Management: Effective engagement with key stakeholders and well developed ability to communicate and present at the senior management level.
  • Education & Experience: A higher degree (technical background would be valuable) or proven experience in the field.
