What you’ll do

As a Senior Financial Analyst – FP&A at Vodafone, you will play a pivotal role in partnering with leaders of our Vodafone Procure & Connect (VP&C) business. Your mission will be to establish a robust financial foundation, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data and reporting. By working across markets and functions, you will help shape the financial strategy and ensure the ongoing financial health of the business.

In this role, you will be responsible for gathering information and producing monthly reports, forecasts, budgets, and scenario plans. You will continuously monitor and evaluate business performance across key finance KPIs, including Third Party Margin, Opex, and Capex. Your insights and analysis will drive data-driven decisions, support month-end activities, and ensure compliance with IFRS and Vodafone policies.

You will build strong and influential relationships, managing challenging stakeholders and developing business cases to maximize investment returns. Additionally, you will support ad-hoc projects across VP&C, contributing to the broader financial strategy.

The Senior Financial Analyst – FP&A will help shape financial decisions through influential advice and recommendations, working alongside business leaders to drive commercial growth through considered yet agile decision-making. The following areas of VP&C, which could be in scope for this role, have strategic importance to the future development of Vodafone:

  • SCM Sales: Driving external margin through traditional partner markets and joint venture business models.
  • Roaming & Voice: Enhancing external margin through value-added services provided to customers.
  • Projects: Managing Opex and Capex investments into our systems and processes across Roaming, SCM, and Logistics Operations.
  • People: Overseeing headcount and associated employment costs of the VP&C organization, both centrally and across Vodafone's footprint.

You will support the delivery of financial targets, including Margin, Opex, and Capex. You will play a crucial role in the budgeting process and monthly reviews for various departments, ensuring the accurate treatment of project costs. Additionally, you will support the governance process by reviewing actual results against business cases and contribute to ad-hoc projects across the wider Luxembourg Finance and Group Technology Finance team.

  • Commercial Acumen: Ability to balance complex detail with wider commercial matters: You will be able to dive into the details of financial data while keeping an eye on the bigger picture, ensuring that financial strategies align with overall business goals. Ability to critically evaluate commercial proposals and business ideas: You will assess the viability and potential impact of various business proposals, providing insightful analysis and recommendations.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to take initiative to solve varied business problems: You will proactively identify and address financial challenges, using your analytical skills to develop effective solutions.
  • Communication: Strong oral and written communication skills at all levels: You will need to clearly and effectively communicate complex financial information to both financial and non-financial stakeholders, ensuring understanding and alignment.
  • Finance and Accounting: Strong grasp of accounting and finance principles/processes: You will have a deep understanding of financial principles and processes, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with relevant standards. Strong systems knowledge (SAP or other ERP systems): You will be proficient in using ERP systems like SAP to manage financial data and processes efficiently.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and Excel skills: You will be skilled in analyzing financial data, using Excel and other tools to create detailed reports, forecasts, and models.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong prioritization and organizational skills: You will be able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, prioritizing effectively to meet deadlines and achieve financial targets.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt and be flexible in a dynamic, diverse, and high-performing finance team: You will thrive in a fast-paced environment, adapting to changing priorities and working collaboratively with a diverse team.
  • University degree: A degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is essential for this role.
  • Professional Qualifications: CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified or studying towards qualification OR professional experience in applying IFRS standards. You will either be fully qualified or actively working towards a recognized accounting qualification, with a strong understanding of IFRS standards.
  • ERP systems knowledge (SAP): Proficiency in using SAP or similar ERP systems is crucial for managing financial data and processes.
  • Advanced IT and Digital Skills (Microsoft Office Suite): You will be highly skilled in using Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel, for financial analysis and reporting.
  • Knowledge of Power BI, SQL, and think-cell: Familiarity with these tools will be an advantage, allowing you to create advanced data visualizations and perform complex data analysis.
