What you’ll do

The IT Delivery Lead is accountable for the successful end-to-end delivery of strategic technology programmes, enterprise systems changes, and transformation initiatives across Vodafone’s Group Functions and Local Markets.

This role leads the planning, coordination, governance, and execution of complex IT deliveries across multiple workstreams including Applications, Infrastructure, Data, Testing, Deployment, Security, and Operations.

The IT Delivery Lead ensures programmes are delivered on time, within budget, to agreed quality standards, while managing internal stakeholders, System Integrators, vendors, and cross-market teams. The role is critical in translating business strategy into executable technology solutions and ensuring smooth transition into Business-as-Usual operations.

The IT Delivery Lead role will be responsible to manage the full end to end delivery: follow up on design closure, full test coordination, data coordination (if data migration is requested), solution deployment (including CAB approval) and transition to Global ERP support and operations. 

 

 

Who you are

Programme & Delivery Leadership

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of strategic IT programmes from initiation through design, build, testing, deployment, hypercare, and BAU transition.
  • Own programme plans, milestones, budgets, RAID logs, dependencies, and delivery governance.
  • Ensure delivery against agreed timelines, budgets, scope, and quality objectives.
  • Provide clear status reporting to senior leadership and programme boards.

Solution Design & Change Delivery

  • Drive design closure across business, architecture, product, and technical teams.
  • Ensure all functional and technical designs are approved and aligned to Vodafone standards.
  • Challenge complexity and drive simplification of local market solutions.
  • Oversee delivery of application changes across ERP, Finance, CRM, Billing, Data, and Digital platforms.

Stakeholder & Partner Management

  • Act as primary IT interface for Group Functions, Local Markets, vendors, and System Integrators.
  • Manage third-party partners against delivery commitments, commercials, SLAs, and quality outcomes.
  • Influence senior stakeholders including CIO, CFO, Programme Sponsors, and functional leaders.

Testing & Release Management

  • Own test readiness, planning, execution progress, defect resolution, and business sign-off.
  • Ensure successful release management, CAB approvals, deployment readiness, and production go-live.
  • Coordinate rollback, contingency, and operational readiness plans.

Data & Integration Delivery

  • Oversee data migration activities including extraction, transformation, reconciliation, and cutover planning.
  • Ensure seamless integration between Vodafone core platforms, legacy systems, and third-party solutions.

Operational Readiness

  • Ensure Knowledge Transfer from delivery teams / SI partners into support teams.
  • Establish support models, SLAs, runbooks, monitoring, and service transition plans.
  • Drive successful handover into operations with minimal business disruption.

Leadership

  • Lead matrix teams across internal technology teams, offshore delivery centres, local markets, and external partners.
  • Build a high-performance delivery culture focused on accountability, speed, collaboration, and continuous improvement

Core Competencies / Experience

  • Strong IT programme and delivery management experience in large enterprise environments.
  • Proven track record delivering complex multi-country transformation programmes.
  • Experience managing System Integrators and global vendors.
  • Strong understanding of full SDLC / Agile / Waterfall / Hybrid methodologies.
  • Expertise across Applications, Infrastructure, Data, Security, Testing, Deployment, and Operations.
  • Experience within telecoms, ERP, finance transformation, CRM, billing, or digital transformation environments.
  • Strong commercial awareness including budgets, forecasting, and vendor management.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
  • Ability to lead in fast-paced, high-pressure, multi-cultural environments.

 

Technical / Professional Skills

Desirable experience in one or more of:

  • SAP / S4HANA / ERP / RISE
  • CRM / Collections / Devices platforms
  • Billing systems
  • Data Warehousing / BI
  • Cloud / Infrastructure Transformation
  • Cyber Security Delivery
  • Integration Platforms / APIs

  • DevOps / CI-CD delivery models

 

Qualifications

  • Degree qualified in IT, Engineering, Business, or related discipline.
  • PRINCE2 / PMP / Agile / SAFe certification desirable.
  • ITIL desirable.
