What you’ll do
Vodafone is committed to driving our Cloud strategy and engineering evolution and this is an exciting opportunity to join the global Cloud Engineering Chapter to completely transform the financial operations of our team, through establishing a FinOps approach to cost management. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical and financial skills and the ability to apply their technical expertise to drive our commercial and financial position.
- Establish and implement a FinOps approach to cost management.
- Monitor and analise cloud usage and other platform consumption costs to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Architecture, Engineering and Product to drive a cost-conscious mindset and ensure achievement of financial goals and objectives.
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes for Cloud Engineering services.
- Generate regular and accurate reporting to drive cost transparency.
- Implement and maintain financial controls and procedures to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance financial processes and systems.
- Provide insights and technical recommendations to the leadership and wider team on cloud financial performance and strategic initiatives to drive optimisation.
- Lead the technical delivery of cost optimisation initiatives through to implementation.
- Collaborate with vendors to ensure optimal use of their products and identify opportunities to rationalise or drive efficiencies in our tooling strategy and roadmap.
Who you are
- Proven experience in financial operations, cloud cost management or a related role.
- Advanced knowledge of cloud financial principles and practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Established experience in creating and managing digital dashboards (PowerBI, etc).
- Proficiency in cloud financial management tools and software (eg. AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, Google Cloud Billing).
- Good technical knowledge of Cloud and DevOps tools and a passion for technology.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Superior reporting skills, including executive reporting.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Computer Science, or a related field.
- FinOps Certified Practitioner preferred.
