Role Purpose

The Global Supplier Account Manager will execute Vodafone IoT’s supply chain strategy to support business operations and performance. This role involves managing existing supply relationships via Vodafone Procurement Company (VPC) and direct relationships with other Vodafone entities, as well as supporting future direct sourcing needs for IoT, including critical supply arrangements for network services. As a Global Supplier Account Manager (GSAM) Enterprise IoT, you will lead the commercial relationship with assigned Enterprise Internet of Things suppliers, driving contract negotiations and leveraging Vodafone’s global scale for competitive advantage.

 

What you will do 

Key Responsibilities

•    Define and execute the supplier strategy for leveraging the commercial relationship with suppliers to generate competitive advantages
•    Manage and lead commercial relationships including prices, terms and contracts, leveraging on the respective core teams 
•    Supports escalations towards supplier topics and manages business risks, including contingency plans development including the tracking all escalated issues until closure
•    Lead contract negotiations (known as Vodafone Procurement Agreements) with the respective supplier(s), and deliver in a timely and quality manner e.g. contract negotiations, contract management, contract amendments, and Group Legal endorsements. Control the implementation of and adherence to those Contracts
•    Be the Cross-functional owner and coordinator of all preliminary supplier onboarding, engaging portfolio and product management to coordinate the interface with suppliers. Set up regular reporting and plans for the rollout of CIoT Products & Services
•    Work in close collaboration with the Vodafone IoT Team to drive and to scout suppliers 
•    Drive improvements of the supplier’s performance and set standards for all suppliers (Activity wheel, Supplier Performance Matrix (SPM) evaluation, Supplier improvement plan)
•    Perform and conduct Requests for Proposals (RFx) to seek out for the right Products & Services that could fulfill the IoT Roadmap with demand and sustainable business

Key Accountabilities: 

•    Build up a new, focused Supply Chain Management / Procurement function specific to the needs of Vodafone IoT.
•    Ensure business needs are being represented and incorporated into procurement and logistics plans, and execution
•    Partner with the business in driving robust demand management practices to deliver the best possible outcomes for cost, quality, and delivery, and ensure interlock with Finance and business owners
•    Ensure appropriate governance is in place for key suppliers and contracts to include strategic vendor management and robust implementation and execution of Commercial Contract Management principles

Who you are

•    Professional experience with minimum of 5 years in Telco industry purchasing (one or more of the following categories is an advantage Handsets / CPE/ Mobile Connect / Internet Of Things) 
•    Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management experience in an international environment
•    Experience in IoT and mobile devices market is preferred.
•    Sound understanding of Telco technology, products and supply, consumer and Enterprise market.
•    Past experience with start-up commercial model and management of start-up suppliers is preferred.
•    Understanding of Service Business Models
•    Ability to accomplish goals in traditional and matrix organisation preferable
•    cross-functional thinking and acting
