Location: Newbury or London (Hybrid)

What you’ll do
The Governance Manager will be tasked with developing and overseeing secure operational procedures. This role involves regularly engaging with the GMT to keep them informed about key decisions made across various SOM forums. Additionally, the Governance Manager will be expected to present to the GMT or board-level stakeholders to obtain approvals or guidance on business matters that carry significant risk and could potentially impact customers.
Key accountabilities:
- Assessment of risk for VBUK and SOM customers in relation to transformation and other project activity across VF UK and Group.
- Management of business risk with the ability to establish impact with lateral thinking (reactive/proactive) decision making
- Ability to define and execute communications strategy to ensure colleagues follow at all times.
- Ability to assess/define required governance structure & governance to support required outcomes – understanding that one size does not fit all.
- Ability to build structure & governance that meets the demands of internal & external stakeholders and customers.
- Ability to build internal & external stakeholder relationships.
- Ability to determine level of engagement required for each stakeholder/customer based on their requirements.
- Responsible for the SOM risk and issue log and for all appropriate escalations to the SteerCo and GMT
- Act as the Internal customer of the SOM delivery programmes (e.g. Technology SOM Gov Programme) ensuring that the programmes are delivering to the requested SOM Mandate. Advising and approving Programme Change Requests, where appropriate, supporting the Programme with any contextual or contractual delivery issues.
- Responsible for the senior relationships to build a successful virtual SOM team across Vodafone UK
Who you are
- Extensive experience of governance through direct programme/project delivery experience
- Excellent communication skills at all levels demonstrated by the ability to build excellent working relationships and influence internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience and excellent track record for managing change and driving delivery of improvement initiatives.
- Extensive analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Experience working with security principals and controls (ideal)
- Customer Facing & Operational experience (ideal)
- Previous experience in the telecoms/data industry (ideal)
- UK resident with BPSS
- Previous MSP or Prince Practitioner (ideal)
- Commercial experience
