Role title:  Senior Cloud Architect
Location: UK Remote

 

Role Purpose

 

This role has accountability for the service engineering for Vodafone Cloud & Infrastructure (VCI)
Public/Private Cloud Services/products. E2E Accountability for defining and driving Cloud adoption and migration strategy for moving workloads from traditional to public/private cloud environments focusing on Oracle Cloud. Supports the re-factoring of application increasing full automated Oracle Cloud Native Workloads. Work closely with the Platform owner and manager to assess new technologies and lead the development of new services for VCI Managed cloud customers, whilst also providing lifecycle management of existing Cloud Services and technologies. 

What you’ll do

 

Key accountabilities and decision ownership: 

  • Lead the design, development and deployment of modular cloud-based systems.
  • Lead the engineering and development community to evaluate and identify optimal cloud solutions.
  • Modifying and improving existing systems.
  • Educating teams on the implementation of new cloud technologies and initiatives.
  • Developing and maintaining cloud solutions in accordance with best practices.
  • Ensuring efficient functioning of data storage and processing functions in accordance with company security policies and best practices in cloud security.
  • Identifying, analysing and resolving infrastructure vulnerabilities and application deployment issues.

Who you are

 

Core competencies, knowledge and experience:

  • In depth knowledge of key OCI services
  • Proven experience assessing customer workloads and technology landscape for Cloud suitability, 
  • Passionate advocate of how technology supports our business and can be used to gain advantage and improve customer experience
  • Strong understanding of OCI platform and tools
  • Deep Knowledge of best practices and market trends pertaining to Cloud
  • Experience provisioning and spinning up cloud infrastructure
  • Strong skills to build scalable production systems (load balancers, memcached, master/slave architectures)
