What you’ll do

You’ll play a key role in shaping how Vodafone approaches Health, Safety & Environment (HS&E)—not as a compliance checkbox, but as part of who we are and how we operate every day. You’ll help us create lasting positive change, keep our people safe and well, and minimize our environmental impact. This isn’t about doing the bare minimum; it’s about doing what’s right and making a difference.

  • Drive Vodafone’s HS&E vision by embedding safety and sustainability into everyday business practices.
  • Deliver UK Environment plans and Group HS&E reporting, including sustainability updates and accurate incident data.
  • Support business teams with expert advice, guidance, and specialist input for bids and customer relationships.
  • Build strong relationships across Retail and other functions to ensure effective HS&E controls and compliance.
  • Implement assurance programs and monitor HS&E management systems through audits and reviews.
  • Manage incidents within your area, ensuring thorough investigations and preventive actions.
  • Maintain compliance with ISO14001 & ISO45001 standards and support audits.
  • Keep Vodafone ahead of legislative changes and ensure our HS&E systems are always up to date.
  • Produce high-quality communications—reports, presentations, and updates—that make complex information clear and actionable.

Who you are

  • You’ll have significant HS&E experience in a corporate environment.
  • Environmental qualification and membership of IEMA (or equivalent).
  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent, and ideally Chartered IOSH membership (or working toward it).
  • Strong ability to plan, prioritize, and act proactively in a fast-paced environment.
  • A collaborative mindset—building trust and working with others to achieve the best outcomes.
  • Adaptability to changing business needs and a knack for finding innovative solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills to engage stakeholders and influence effectively.
  • Auditor qualification and/or experience is a plus.
  • Self-driven, with the ability to work independently while maintaining positive relationships.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of HS&E legislation and standards.
