Location: Newbury + Hybrid
Salary: Excellent basic salary plus bonus and Vodafone benefits
Working hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week – Monday to Friday

What you’ll do

 

You’ll step into a uniquely impactful role at VodafoneThree, where you’ll support national security and public safety while helping deliver the UK’s most advanced network. As an IPA Officer, you’ll work at the frontline of lawful disclosure—ensuring sensitive information is handled accurately, securely, and in compliance with legislation. Every action you take will directly support law enforcement investigations, including time-critical and life-at-risk situations, making a real difference to people and communities across the UK.

 

  • Process and manage lawful requests under the Investigatory Powers Act (IPA), ensuring full compliance with legal and internal requirements
  • Deliver accurate and timely responses within strict statutory SLAs, supporting critical investigations
  • Validate requests to ensure they meet legal standards before processing, safeguarding responsible data access
  • Retrieve, interpret, and securely disclose communications data using approved systems with a “right first time” approach
  • Handle sensitive information with the highest levels of confidentiality, adhering to security policies and the Official Secrets Act
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records to support audit, regulatory, and operational requirements
  • Act as a key point of contact for law enforcement and internal stakeholders, responding professionally and escalating complex cases where needed
  • Work within a 24/7 shift-based environment, including nights, weekends, and bank holidays
  • Build your expertise through structured training, becoming confident in applying legislation and handling disclosures at pace
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying ways to enhance processes, controls, and operational efficiency
  • Support collaboration and engagement across teams, including opportunities to work closely with law enforcement partners

 

Who you are

 

  • Experience handling lawful requests or working in a regulated, compliance-driven environment
  • Understanding (or willingness to develop knowledge) of the Investigatory Powers Act and related legal frameworks
  • Strong attention to detail, with a track record of delivering accurate, high-quality outputs
  • A high level of integrity and discretion when handling sensitive and confidential information
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced, time-critical environment
  • Clear and confident communication skills, able to convey technical or legal information accurately
  • Experience in maintaining accurate records and supporting audit or compliance requirements
  • A proactive, self-driven approach, with the ability to work independently when needed
  • Willingness to work flexible shift patterns, including nights, weekends, and on-call arrangements
  • A collaborative mindset with a willingness to learn, grow, and contribute to a supportive team environment
  • Eligibility and willingness to obtain and maintain Security Check (SC) clearance
