About this Role

We are seeking a Cloud Machine Learning Engineer (AWS) to design, develop, and deploy scalable machine learning solutions that deliver business value across global markets. This role combines expertise in ML/AI with strong programming and software engineering skills to enable seamless integration of models into production environments. You will work closely with architecture teams and data scientists to optimise data pipelines, automate predictive modelling, and ensure robust MLOps practices.

What you’ll do

  • Design and develop machine learning systems and reusable patterns.
  • Automate predictive model workflows, including training and deployment.
  • Productionise data science prototypes and build ML applications aligned with business requirements.
  • Facilitate data flow between ML/AI models and enterprise data systems.
  • Enhance data pipelines for accuracy, cleanliness, and optimisation for ML models.
  • Collaborate with architecture teams to evolve Big Data capabilities and reusable assets.
  • Research and evaluate emerging technologies to improve ML application delivery and sustainability.
  • Contribute to defining best practices for agile development on Big Data platforms.

Who you are

  • Experienced in managing agile software development lifecycles (Scrum/Kanban).
  • Strong data modelling and architecture skills.
  • Proficient in Big Data frameworks (Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Yarn, Airflow).
  • Hands-on experience with distributed ML frameworks (H2O, TensorFlow) and ML libraries.
  • Skilled in creating and deploying end-to-end ML pipelines in production environments.
  • Expertise in MLOps practices.
  • Programming proficiency in Java and Python.
  • Familiarity with containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes) and cloud alternatives.
  • Mandatory experience with AWS services (SageMaker Pipelines, CloudFormation, CloudTrail, SNS, EventBridge, CodePipeline, CodeBuild, CodeCommit, SageMaker Studio).
  • Desirable experience with NoSQL databases and streaming technologies.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Holds a relevant IT/IS degree or diploma; advanced degree in Computer Science/Math/Statistics is advantageous.
  • Professional or associate-level cloud certification preferred.
  • Minimum 5+ years as an AI/ML Engineer and 5+ years in BI or related software development.
