About this Role
We are seeking a GCP Data Engineering Lead with over 8 years of experience, including 2–4 years of hands-on expertise in cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS, or Azure. This role involves preparing low-level designs, building and operationalising data processing systems, and acting as a subject matter expert in GCP data engineering. The individual will also contribute to organisational efficiency through process and tool adoption, and support technical guilds with their expertise.

What you will do
•    Prepare Low-Level Designs (LLD) aligned with High-Level Designs (HLD) provided by project architects.
•    Build and operationalise data processing systems based on LLD specifications.
•    Apply optimised development approaches using GCP BigQuery and Airflow.
•    Leverage knowledge of cloud-based data pipeline patterns to navigate product limitations.
•    Act as a subject matter expert in GCP Data Engineering, mentoring junior team members.
•    Demonstrate a proactive approach to learning and applying new technologies.
•    Lead small teams or projects from initiation to closure when required.
•    Drive process adoption, resource optimisation, and tool implementation to enhance efficiency and quality.
•    Contribute technical expertise to internal guilds and communities of practice.

Who you are
•    Over 8 years of overall experience in data engineering.
•    Minimum 2–4 years of relevant experience in cloud platforms (GCP/AWS/Azure).
•    Proficient in GCP suite of products including BigQuery.
•    Prior experience with MPP databases such as Teradata and PostgreSQL.
•    Skilled in Apache Airflow or Cloud Composer for workflow scheduling.
•    Google Cloud Certified Professional Data Engineer (preferred).
•    Strong analytical and collaborative skills with a commitment to continuous learning.
